National Economics University: Affirming Its Position as a Smart University, Cultivating a Generation of Global Digital Citizens
In the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data, National Economics University (NEU) not only maintains its position as a “leading pioneer” in economics, management, and business administration education but also advances to become a leading Smart University in Vietnam.
By 2026, the University aims to gradually complete a comprehensive digital ecosystem, where technology not only plays a supportive role but becomes the core foundation of academic, research, and university management activities.
Information Technology Infrastructure – The Foundation of a Modern University
With a strategic focus on technology as the “backbone”, National Economics University has made comprehensive investments in information technology infrastructure, creating a new face for the learning environment.
The entire campus is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, ensuring high-speed connectivity in lecture halls, libraries, and public areas. Smart Classrooms are equipped with multimedia interactive devices, effectively supporting a hybrid model of in-person and online learning.

Notably, the modern Digital Library – a key component of the SAHEP Project (Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education Project) funded by the World Bank, has become a large-scale digital knowledge center, allowing learners to access materials anytime, anywhere. The library is connected to the vast databases of renowned global publishers, enabling students to search for materials 24/7, including over 2.3 million books and journals (both print and digital); more than 19,000 permanently licensed eBooks from leading global publishers (IG Publishing, Springer, Elsevier…). Access to specialized international databases such as ProQuest Central (with 27,000 full-text documents), Emerald Insight, and notably the FiinPro macroeconomic financial data system exclusively for students in the Economics – Finance sector.
Digital Ecosystem – Elevating Learner Experience
Aiming to enhance the learner experience in a digital environment, National Economics University (NEU) has developed a comprehensive digital application ecosystem, contributing to the comprehensive modernization of students’ learning, training, and living activities.
Prominently featured is the NEU Student App – a digital platform for student identification, allowing the integration of electronic student cards directly on mobile devices. Through the app, students can perform smart attendance using facial recognition or QR codes, while conveniently accessing services at the library and various on-campus facilities.
Additionally, NEU Youth is designed as a “connection hub” for students, supporting transparent and automated management of training scores. All activities related to the Youth Union, volunteering, clubs, or seminars are registered and recorded online, enabling students to monitor their personal development process visually. It also serves as a rapid information channel, continuously updating events, startup competitions, and international exchange programs.
Meanwhile, NEU Reader serves as a gateway to digital knowledge, directly connecting with the University’s library system. The application allows students to access tens of thousands of electronic books (E-books), textbooks, and copyrighted scientific journals anytime, anywhere; it also supports personalized features such as note-taking, content marking, and document storage. The integration of Artificial Intelligence technology optimizes the process of exploring and accessing learning content.
Simultaneously, the entire administrative process at NEU has been fully digitized, replacing traditional methods. The online software system supports students in performing all tasks such as credit registration, tracking academic results, checking class schedules, and making cashless tuition payments directly on personal devices.
The Learning Management System (LMS) is uniformly implemented, providing personalized learning pathways, supporting self-study, group discussions, and scientific online assessments.
Notably, the OneGate public service system has made a significant leap in administrative reform. All procedures such as issuing confirmation letters, transcripts, graduation registration, personal information adjustment, reissuing student cards, or registering for health insurance are processed online, transparently and quickly, eliminating waiting times or the need to move between units.

Students use the Automatic Certification Machine (CIM)
The implementation of the Automatic Certification Machine (CIM) continues to enhance service quality, allowing students to proactively obtain necessary documents in a short time, contributing to bringing the University’s experience closer to the standards of advanced educational institutions worldwide.
In addition, the cashless payment system is comprehensively integrated, ensuring safety and convenience in fulfilling financial obligations and public services, completing the digital ecosystem to comprehensively serve learners.
AI & Data Science Platform: Leading the Future Trend
Not standing outside the wave of technological transformation, National Economics University (NEU) has intensified its investment in cutting-edge technology platforms, gradually forming a modern research-application ecosystem to meet the training requirements of the digital era.

Among them, the NEU AI Lab & Data Center is established as a specialized research and practice center, equipped with high-configuration servers, enabling students from fields such as Fintech, data science, and AI in business to directly access and process large datasets, thereby enhancing analytical capabilities and practical applications.
Simultaneously, artificial intelligence technology is directly integrated into teaching activities, supporting students in market analysis, economic forecasting, and optimizing business management operations, contributing to bridging the gap between theory and practice.

The intelligent chatbot system is also deployed synchronously, acting as a digital assistant for learners. For prospective students, the chatbot assists in advising on course selection and promptly updates information on admission methods, quotas, and benchmark scores over the years. For current students, the system provides functions to look up regulations, answer questions related to course registration, conditions for academic improvement, deferment, or credit transfer; it also provides detailed guidance on the procedures for performing tasks on the OneGate public service system.
Notably, the automated support mechanism (ticket) integrated into the chatbot allows for the reception and classification of complex requests, forwarding them to the appropriate specialized department for quick processing, contributing to enhancing service quality and operational efficiency across the entire system.
Enhancing Digital Competence: “The Key” to Becoming a Global Citizen
With a development orientation in the digital era, National Economics University identifies its core objective as equipping students with comprehensive digital skills and thinking, meeting the demands of the artificial intelligence era.
Accordingly, the academic programs are designed according to international standards, ensuring that 100% of students are equipped with digital technology skills, data thinking, and information security knowledge during their studies.
In addition to a bachelor’s degree, students also have the opportunity to access and obtain digital certificates (micro-credentials) from leading technology partners such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, GIZ, or Coursera, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the global labor market.
Alongside formal training, the University regularly organizes technology playgrounds such as Hackathons and innovation startup competitions on digital platforms, contributing to igniting creativity, technological application ability, and problem-solving thinking among students.
Affirming the Vision of a University Leading the Future
With a clear development strategy and comprehensive investment, National Economics University (NEU) is gradually affirming its position as a smart university, pioneering in the digital transformation of education in Vietnam.
Not only focusing on specialized knowledge, National Economics University aims for a higher goal: equipping learners with the ability to master technology, thereby becoming digital leaders who contribute to driving the economic development in the new era.
