In the current context, healthcare should not only focus on treating diseases but also on disease prevention, enhancing quality of life, and mobilizing the participation of the entire society.

In his speech at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Xuan Co – Director of Bach Mai Hospital emphasized: “In the current development perspective, public health care cannot be solely the responsibility of the medical sector, but needs to be strongly connected with the community and social forces. The cooperation agreement between Bach Mai Hospital and the National Economics University today is very necessary, timely, and has a long-term vision, aiming to leverage the strengths of both parties in education, academic research, communication, management, and community health care.”

As a special-grade hospital, Bach Mai Hospital receives approximately 6,000 – 10,000 visits daily for consultations, treatments, and services, along with over 4,000 inpatients. The hospital is not only a place for medical procedures but also a comprehensive care space where patients need support in physical, mental, and service experience aspects. This is also why the hospital seeks to expand cooperation with educational and research institutions strong in management and communication, among which the National Economics University is a strategic partner with great potential.

In line with this perspective, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – President of National Economics University believes that the collaboration between the two entities serves as “bridges connecting hearts and minds,” encompassing bridges between management and health, between interdisciplinary training and research, and between digital transformation and value dissemination. Through this, academic knowledge is not confined to the classroom but is applied in practice, bringing tangible benefits to the community and the healthcare system.

The cooperation agreement opens up numerous specific areas of collaboration in the near future, such as interdisciplinary training and academic research; health economics; communication, marketing, and service development; voluntary blood donation activities and community health care; consultation, health check-ups, and medical support for staff, faculty members, and students.

The highlight of the activities on April 7th is the Final Round of the “Design Ideas and Communication Plan for Bach Mai Blood Donation Station” Competition, organized in response to National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The competition aims to seek creative, feasible, and humane communication ideas, contributing to building the image of Bach Mai Blood Donation Station as a friendly, professional, and reliable destination; while also promoting correct awareness, forming the habit of repeated blood donation, and aiming to develop a sustainable blood donor source in Hanoi.

The program is jointly implemented by both parties over multiple phases throughout six months, ensuring consistency and depth of expertise. Organizing two activities on the same day clearly demonstrates the determination to leverage each party’s strengths, enhance interdisciplinary connections, and aim for practical and effective contributions to public health care.

Through the competition, the two entities wish to harness the intelligence, youthful energy, and social responsibility of students, faculty members, and the community to solve a practical problem in the healthcare sector: how to make blood donation activities not just a movement, but gradually become a voluntary, regular, and sustainable behavior, including both whole blood and component donations.

From the early rounds, the competition attracted over 600 contestants with more than 200 teams from various universities and colleges nationwide, demonstrating a strong appeal and growing interest among young people in voluntary blood donation activities.
