Opening Ceremony for the Second Batch of the 2026 Distance Learning Undergraduate Program in Southern Vietnam
On April 4, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, National Economics University held the Opening Ceremony for the Second Batch of the 2026 Distance Learning Undergraduate Program in Southern Vietnam for nearly 200 new students.

Attending the ceremony, from the partner units, were: Ms. Dinh Thi Tam – Representative of AUM Vietnam Training Services JSC, Ho Chi Minh City Area; Ms. Dao Thu Hang – Representative of Oriental Multimodal Training JSC in Ho Chi Minh City.
From National Economics University, there were: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Quang Vinh – Director of the Distance Learning Center; along with representatives from the University’s Schools, Departments, Faculties, Institutes, Centers, new students who were admitted, and their families, relatives, and friends.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony for the Second Batch of the 2026 Distance Learning Undergraduate Program in Southern Vietnam, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice President extended congratulations to the new students and expressed hope that the students will achieve many positive results during their studies.
Sharing at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu emphasized that 2026 marks a special milestone as the University celebrates its 70th anniversary. Over the course of its development, the National Economics University has affirmed its position as a leading training institution in Vietnam in the fields of economics, management, and business administration, while also promoting the development of technology sectors, digital transformation, and gradually implementing a strategy to evolve into a multi-disciplinary university model.
Referring to the Distance Learning Program, the Vice President of the University stated that this is a direction in line with the development trends of technology and modern education. After more than 20 years of implementation, distance learning has become an important component of the University’s training system, attracting a large number of learners each year and continuously being invested in, improved in terms of curriculum, technology, and training organization methods.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu also emphasized that in the distance learning model, alongside comprehensive support from the University in terms of learning materials, technological platforms, and faculty members, the key to success lies in the self-discipline, learning awareness, and proactivity of each student. Effectively utilizing learning resources will help students enhance their knowledge, skills, and maximize the value of the academic programs.
The Vice President also expressed the hope that the new students will continuously strive to study and train to become high-quality human resources, contributing positively to the development of society and the nation, while also helping to spread the reputation and brand of National Economics University within the community.

New Student Do Thi Anh Hong Delivers a Speech
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the new students, Do Thi Anh Hong expressed the honor of officially becoming a student at the National Economics University – a prestigious academic environment rich in tradition. According to Hong, this pride becomes even more meaningful as the course begins at a time when the University is approaching its 70th anniversary, while also marking the 20-year journey of the Distance Learning Center’s development.
Sharing her choice, Hong believes that distance learning (E-learning) is not only a flexible learning solution but also reflects the inevitable trend of modern education, where knowledge is expanded, connected, and accessed without limits. “Despite being in different regions, we come together in a serious learning environment, sharing the aspiration to improve ourselves and advance through knowledge,” Hong emphasized.
Fully aware of the challenges of this learning format, the representative of the new students affirmed the spirit of proactivity, discipline, and determination to pursue their learning journey seriously and effectively. At the same time, she expressed gratitude to the University, the faculty, and family members who have provided the conditions and support for the new students to embark on this new journey.
