On August 24, 2026, National Economics University hosted a meeting with Fudan University, China, to discuss directions for cooperation in education, scientific research, and human resource development. The meeting was held in an open, substantive, and constructive atmosphere, with the two sides reaching agreement on a number of specific areas for future cooperation.

Promoting Cooperation between Two Leading Higher Education Institutions

Representing National Economics University at the meeting were Prof. Dr. Do Hai Ha – Rector of the School of Public Economics and Management; Dr. Pham Sy Long – Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department; and Dr. Nguyen Dang Nui – Chief of Office of the School of Public Economics and Management.

The delegation from Fudan University included Prof. Jing Yijia – Professor and Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy; Assoc. Prof. Qian Haoqi – Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the Institute for Global Public Policy; and Ms. Zhang Rong – Director of the Administrative Office of the Institute for Global Public Policy.

Overview of the meeting

During the meeting, representatives of the two universities provided an overview of their respective strengths in education and research, as well as their development orientations, while discussing potential areas for cooperation in the coming period.

The participants placed particular emphasis on strengthening connections among faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students of the two universities, thereby laying a solid foundation for deeper and long-term academic cooperation.

Reaching Agreement on Key Areas of Cooperation

A key focus of the discussion was the development and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which will provide a framework for implementing specific cooperation activities between National Economics University and Fudan University in the future.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed to promote several key areas of cooperation, including master’s student exchange, providing postgraduate students with opportunities to study, conduct research, and participate in academic exchange activities at the partner institution; faculty development and exchange, facilitating the sharing of experience and expertise in teaching, research, and curriculum development; as well as the joint organization of summer camps, academic programs, and international exchange activities for students and postgraduate students.

In addition, the two universities expressed their intention to expand cooperation in scientific research, academic exchange, and expert networking, with a view to developing practical and mutually beneficial programs that align with the strengths and development needs of both institutions.

During the meeting, representatives of National Economics University highly appreciated Fudan University’s academic reputation, research capacity, and international cooperation network, while expressing their wish to translate the discussions into concrete and practical cooperation programs at an early stage.

Towards Long-term and Substantive Partnership

Representatives of Fudan University also affirmed their strong interest and commitment to strengthening cooperation with National Economics University, particularly in the areas of postgraduate education, faculty development, and international academic exchange.

The meeting achieved a number of positive outcomes and laid an important foundation for the signing of an MOU and the implementation of specific collaborative programs between the two universities in the coming period. The agreements reached will not only contribute to expanding National Economics University’s international partnership network but also create additional opportunities for faculty members, postgraduate students, and students from both universities to engage in learning, research, and international exchange.
