After three days of intensive, democratic, and responsible work, the XIV Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, for the 2026 – 2031 term, successfully concluded, completing all the proposed program contents and electing the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XIV, for the 2026 – 2031 tenure to lead the workers’, officials’, and labor movement and trade union activities nationwide in the new phase.

Overview of the Congress

The Congress was attended by 780 distinguished delegates representing millions of union members and workers across the country. The Congress focused on evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the XIII Congress, identifying directions, tasks, and breakthrough stages for the 2026 – 2031 term, while also electing the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XIV.

The Congress trusted and elected Comrade Nguyen Huu Dong – Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, Chief of the Party – Union Office, Chairman of the Trade Union of the National Economics University to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XIV, for the 2026 – 2031 tenure. This is an honor not only for Comrade Nguyen Huu Dong personally but also a recognition of the positive contributions of the Trade Union of the National Economics University and the Vietnam Education Trade Union to the workers’, officials’, labor movement, and trade union activities in recent times.

The election of Comrade Nguyen Huu Dong to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XIV, reflects the Congress’s trust in the capability, experience, and dedication of the trade union personnel in the education sector. At the same time, this is an opportunity for the voices and aspirations of union members and workers in the field of education and training to continue to be reflected and contribute to the process of building and developing the Vietnam Trade Union in the new phase.

In recent years, the Trade Union of the National Economics University (NEU) has continuously innovated its content and methods of operation, taking care of the material and spiritual well-being of its members and employees. Additionally, it has actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, contributing effectively to the university’s political mission. The results at the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union further affirm the position, role, and contributions of the NEU Trade Union staff to the overall development of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
