Conference on Summary of Student Affairs for the Academic Year 2025-2026 and Implementation of Key Tasks for the Academic Year 2026-2027
On August 18, 2026, the National Economics University organized the Conference on Summary of Student Affairs for the Academic Year 2025-2026 and Implementation of Key Tasks for the Academic Year 2026-2027. The conference serves as an opportunity to evaluate the achievements, identify areas for further improvement, and agree on solutions to enhance the quality of management, support, and companionship with students in the new academic year.

Conference Overview
Attending the conference were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – Vice President of the University; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha – Head of the Department of Political Affairs & Student Management; along with representatives of leaders from Schools, Departments, Faculties, Institutes, Centers, political-social organizations, and Faculty/Institute assistants.

MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha – Head of the Department of Political Affairs & Student Management presented the report at the Conference
In the report at the conference, MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha – Head of the Department of Political Affairs & Student Management stated that in the academic year 2025-2026, student affairs at the National Economics University were implemented comprehensively across various aspects, including political, ideological, moral, and lifestyle education; learning and training support; psychological counseling; career orientation, employment, entrepreneurship; health care, physical education, and digital transformation in student management.
During the academic year, the University organized the Citizen-Student Week for nearly 9,000 first-year students of cohort 67, for over 6,000 final-year students of cohort 64, and for more than 12,000 mid-year students of cohorts 65 and 66; while maintaining activities for dialogue, political, ideological, moral, lifestyle education, and campus culture. The development of the Party among students continued to be emphasized with nearly 500 outstanding union members introduced for Party awareness training, of which 166 outstanding members were admitted to the Party.
Student support activities were also implemented on a large scale. The document reception unit processed 6,981 cases; 807 students received financial support with a total budget of over 8 billion VND; 2,079 students were awarded scholarships for academic encouragement with a total value of 26 billion VND, alongside more than 4 billion VND in scholarships from enterprises. Nearly 15,000 students with achievements in learning, training, and academic research were commended. Notably, 84% of over 50,000 student evaluations achieved a rating of Good or higher.
Along with academic support, the University continues to focus on connecting learners with the labor market. NEU Career Week 2026 attracted 37 enterprises and 5,587 students; the job system recorded over 5,000 job postings from 1,449 enterprises. Entrepreneurship activities trained and coached over 1,000 students and contributed to the formation of 79 startup projects and ideas.
A notable highlight of the 2025-2026 academic year is the enhancement of technology application and digital transformation in student affairs. The university has operated a centralized data warehouse connecting relevant units; deployed an AI virtual assistant to support students 24/7; and digitized processes for scholarship evaluation, conduct assessment, record management, attendance, and statistical reporting.
Alongside the achievements, the report candidly points out several issues that need further improvement, including the coordination between units in certain activities not meeting the schedule; a portion of students not being proactive in their studies, training, and accessing support activities; and the application of digital tools, chatbots, and virtual assistants for learners not being uniform across the university.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – Vice President of the National Economics University speaks
Speaking at the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – Vice President of the National Economics University acknowledged and commended the achievements in student affairs for the 2025-2026 academic year, while also expressing gratitude for the contributions of the leadership of various units, staff, faculty members, and especially the academic advisors who directly accompany students in their studies and training.
Emphasizing the role of staff and faculty members in shaping the student experience, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong shared: “In the eyes of students, each teacher is an ambassador of the university. When teachers work with dedication and responsibility, providing timely and accurate support to students, the image of the National Economics University in each student is increasingly enhanced.”
According to the Vice President of the University, in the context of rapid scientific and technological development, student management also needs to change in both content and method. Placing students at the center should be done in the spirit of accompanying learners, but at the same time enhancing the proactivity and responsibility of the students themselves. Technology and artificial intelligence can assist in addressing basic issues, but they cannot replace the role of teachers in advising, guiding, understanding, and inspiring, especially when students face difficulties in studies, life, or psychology.
From there, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong proposed continuing to form and perfect the student support ecosystem in various aspects, from academic results and progress to employment and psychological support; strengthening coordination between units so that learners can access the right contact points and receive timely support. In particular, the academic advisory team needs to proactively grasp the situation of students facing difficulties or at risk of academic warning, dropout, or expulsion to work with the university to understand the causes and provide appropriate support solutions.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the National Economics University aims to continue reviewing and updating student management documents in line with new regulations and the university’s realities; researching the deployment of a Chatbot/AI virtual assistant to provide information on regulations, administrative procedures, scholarships, and student activities; innovating political and ideological education; enhancing coordination between units, academic advisors, the Youth Union, and the Student Association; and promoting career orientation, employment, entrepreneurship, and building a safe and healthy learning environment.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong suggested researching a student management model suitable for the National Economics University’s model and academic programs; promptly addressing legitimate proposals from learners; enhancing training to improve the capacity of those involved in student affairs and quickly updating new regulations to the academic advisory team.
