An Attractive Learning Opportunity Exclusively for NEU Students
This year’s Chinese language enrichment course is designed specifically for NEU students, providing a supportive learning environment in which to approach Chinese in a visual, lively, and engaging way. The program not only helps students build a foundation in the language but also offers opportunities to learn about Chinese culture through a variety of content.
During the first four sessions, students were introduced to the Pinyin romanization system and practiced correct pronunciation under the direct guidance of native-speaking lecturers. Students also learned basic conversational expressions to use in real-life situations. Alongside these activities, the program provides instruction in Chinese characters, helping students master their structure, basic strokes, and writing principles, laying a solid foundation for further progress in the future.

A Varied Curriculum Combining Language and Culture
This year marks the third offering of the Chinese course. NEU and Hebei University jointly organize and deliver the program.
The course is divided into three classes and runs for two months, with a total of 27 hours of instruction covering in-depth topics such as Chinese characters, Chinese listening comprehension, Chinese conversation, and Chinese writing instruction. In particular, students have the opportunity to learn and practice directly with six native-speaking teachers from Hebei University who have experience teaching Chinese to foreigners.
In addition to language content, the program incorporates a range of distinctive cultural activities that help students broaden their understanding of China’s culture and traditional arts. The sessions also offer opportunities to explore major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, and Hangzhou, helping students develop a clearer picture of China through the lens of language and culture.
With a well-structured curriculum, high-quality lecturers, and investment from reputable educational organizations, this year’s online Chinese course promises to offer valuable experiences, helping students not only improve their language skills but also nurture a passion for the Chinese language and culture.
