As part of the annual series of practical activities for master’s students in the Executive MBA program at National Economics University (NEU), the Institute of Postgraduate Education held an in-depth seminar on April 19, 2025, on the theme “AI in Practice in Vietnamese Businesses.”

An overview of the seminar

The event aimed to strengthen the connection between classroom theory and business management practice, helping master’s students keep up with the latest technology trends—particularly artificial intelligence (AI), one of the core tools for transformation in the digital era.

Attending the seminar were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Vice Dean in Charge of the Institute of Postgraduate Education; Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Head of the Department of Training; and learners from cohorts 12, 13, and 14. Presentations at the seminar were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Minh Hoang, Dean of the Faculty of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at National Economics University (NEU); and Nguyen Tien Cuong, Deputy General Director of VNPT-IT and concurrently Director of VNPT AI.

The presentations focused on current practical applications of AI in Vietnamese businesses, including using AI to expand human capabilities: automatically visualizing and querying large volumes of data; producing summaries, reports, and suggested Insights in a short time; optimizing costs and increasing revenue; and using AI-powered speech processing to understand customer emotions and optimize sales scripts, creating excitement and positive emotions for customers as they experience products.

They also covered AI applications in business analytics and the optimization of business operations, including AI applications in descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and decision analytics, with examples from television, electricity, finance and banking, healthcare, education, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors.

The application of AI in business has become a trend that cannot be overlooked, as it offers many practical benefits, helping businesses remain competitive and develop sustainably in the modern business environment. The seminar aimed to support businesses in Vietnam in applying AI as part of their development roadmap.

The event demonstrates the Executive MBA program’s efforts to keep pace with modern management trends, particularly digital transformation and AI, to strengthen the management capabilities, strategic thinking, and adaptability of business leaders in Vietnam.

The seminar offered practical perspectives and valuable hands-on insights while inspiring many ideas for applying AI effectively to business management.
