As part of the annual series of practical activities for students in the Executive MBA master’s program at National Economics University (NEU), the Institute of Postgraduate Education organized an in-depth seminar on “AI in Practice in Vietnamese Businesses” on April 19, 2025.

An overview of the seminar

The event aimed to strengthen the connection between classroom theory and business management practice, helping master’s students keep up with the latest technology trends—particularly artificial intelligence (AI), one of the core tools for transformation in the digital era.

Attending the seminar were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Vice Dean in charge of the Institute of Postgraduate Education; Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Head of the Academic Affairs Department; and learners from cohorts 12, 13, and 14. Presentations at the seminar were delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Minh Hoang, Dean of the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at National Economics University (NEU); and Nguyen Tien Cuong, Deputy General Director of VNPT-IT and concurrently Director of VNPT AI.

The presentations focused on current practical applications of AI in Vietnamese businesses, including using AI to extend human capabilities: automatically visualizing and querying large volumes of data; producing summaries, reports, and suggested Insights in a short time; optimizing costs and increasing revenue; and using AI-powered speech processing to understand customer emotions and optimize sales scripts, creating excitement and positive emotions for customers as they experience products.

The presentations also covered AI applications in business analytics and the optimization of business operations: AI in descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and decision analytics, along with examples from television, electricity, finance and banking, healthcare, education, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors.

AI adoption in businesses has become a trend that cannot be overlooked, as it delivers many practical benefits, helping businesses remain competitive and develop sustainably in the modern business environment. The aim is to support businesses in Vietnam in adopting AI as part of their development roadmap.

The event demonstrated the Executive MBA program’s efforts to keep pace with modern management trends, particularly digital transformation and AI, to strengthen the management capabilities, strategic thinking, and adaptability of business leaders in Vietnam.

The seminar offered practical perspectives and valuable hands-on experience while inspiring many ideas for effectively applying AI to business management.
