Under the direction of the Party Committee and the NEU Board of Presidents, NEU largely completed its key tasks in the third quarter of 2025, marked by several important events: successfully holding a ceremony to announce the Decision recognizing the President; attending the opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year organized online by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) across 34 provinces and cities; holding opening ceremonies for Cohort 67, with 8,909 new students, and for numerous international and graduate programs; and awarding bachelor’s degrees to 4,612 full-time graduates. During the fall semester, the University issued a data coding system and a consolidated set of undergraduate education regulations.
External relations continued to expand through cooperation with numerous organizations, universities, and businesses in Vietnam and abroad, broader student exchanges, increased numbers of foreign students, and the launch of the CIM automated certificate issuance machine—a step forward in the digitization of education. Student activities were vibrant, linked to the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. In addition, the University completed investment preparations for the Ha Nam Branch and submitted the basic design to the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee for approval.
However, several tasks remained behind schedule, including implementing Blended Learning; finalizing proposals to establish the International School and the School of Advanced Studies and Excellence; expanding the network of expert collaborators; and addressing the management software procurement package for the Center for Distance Education. The planning dossier for Zone 3 in Bach Mai Ward had also yet to receive an official response, while the restructuring of the CFVG Center into a unit within the University remained slow.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, addresses the conference
Entering the fourth quarter of 2025, NEU is focusing on completing the fall semester, developing plans for the spring 2026 semester, conducting graduation eligibility reviews, and accelerating the development of a standardized question bank in line with FIBAA recommendations. Admissions work for 2025 is being reviewed, and admissions plans for 2026 are being prepared for all modes of education, while distance education admissions continue to expand in Vietnam and Japan.
In research and international cooperation, the University is conducting acceptance reviews of research groups, implementing research projects at all levels, attracting more international students, finalizing regulations governing joint education programs, and preparing for a workshop in Laos. In addition, digital transformation, infrastructure upgrades, school counseling programs, employment surveys, dialogues with students, and startup support are being stepped up to build a comprehensive, modern educational environment.
Delegates exchange views and contribute ideas at the conference
Building on its achievements and clear directions for the fourth quarter, NEU reaffirms its efforts to improve the quality of education, research, and services; promote innovation and digital transformation; and expand international cooperation, thereby better meeting learners’ needs and making practical contributions to the community.
