Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Rector of the College of Technology, NEU, emphasized: “The cooperation between NEU and DAC not only provides financial support through scholarship programs but also demonstrates a long-term commitment to supporting students as they pursue knowledge and careers. DAC is a reputable and responsible partner that has consistently fulfilled all its commitments throughout our cooperation. We believe that today’s agreement will open up many new opportunities for NEU students, especially those majoring in Actuarial Science & Risk Management (Actuary)—a field that requires logical thinking, analytical skills, and extensive international knowledge.”

Speaking on behalf of the company, Chris Chan, General Director of DAC, shared: “We have a high regard for the quality of education at NEU, particularly in Mathematical Economics and Actuarial Science & Risk Management. DAC is always ready to support students through scholarships, internships, and recruitment opportunities. Our goal is to work with NEU to educate a generation of talented actuaries who can meet the demand for high-quality professionals across Asia.”

Since 2018, NEU and DAC have signed cooperation agreements twice. Under these agreements, NEU receives scholarship funding from DAC and awards scholarships to students who meet the sponsorship program’s requirements, primarily those who pass examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA). In addition, DAC funds scholarships, offers paid internships, recruits graduates, and provides scholarships for students pursuing master’s studies in actuarial science in Taiwan.

During the previous cooperation period, DAC awarded two rounds of scholarships to NEU students. In addition, DAC regularly offered internships to students and recruited graduates of NEU’s Actuary major, while also providing master’s scholarships for students studying in Taiwan.

DAC’s sustained support has provided strong motivation, encouraging NEU students to take the Society of Actuaries’ international certification examinations and expanding their opportunities for study, research, and employment in international settings.

Building on their effective cooperation to date, both parties expressed confidence that the new cooperation agreement would continue to deliver value, helping connect knowledge, careers, and businesses while promoting the sustainable development of the Actuarial Science & Risk Management (Actuary) academic program at NEU.
