Field study is a core component of NEU’s Executive – MBA program, designed to strengthen the connection between theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and the realities of business management and operations in a volatile economic and business environment.
On December 12, 2025, the master’s students visited the Hai Van Tunnel Operations Room and undertook field consultations at Deo Ca Group, a leading enterprise in Vietnam in transport infrastructure investment, construction, and operational management, with a workforce of more than 10,000. With more than 30 years of development, Deo Ca Group stands out not only for its investment in and construction of key transport projects but also for its strengths in building technical infrastructure, industrial facilities, and high-rise buildings, and particularly in managing, operating, and maintaining road transport infrastructure. This includes the road tunnel system along National Highway 1A through Central Vietnam, such as Hai Van, Deo Ca, Co Ma, Phu Gia, and Phuoc Tuong tunnels, among others.

Continuing the program, a lively seminar on “Strategic Directions for Sustainable Development at Deo Ca Group” took place on December 13, 2025. Groups of master’s students delivered three key presentations covering Deo Ca Group’s business strategy directions; solutions for mobilizing capital for transport infrastructure projects and the Group’s financial management, focusing on capital restructuring and addressing obstacles to mobilizing capital through public–private partnerships (PPP); and strengthening implementation of the public–private partnership (PPP) model through a case study of Deo Ca Group. The presentations and discussions were highly regarded, demonstrating the close integration of the master’s students’ specialized knowledge and practical experience in business management and operations.
