On the morning of February 23, 2026 (the 7th day of the Lunar New Year), the National Economics University successfully organized the Welcome Spring 2026 program. Attending the program were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho – Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – President of the University; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice President of the University; Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong – Chairman of the University Trade Union; along with former university leaders; representatives from various university units, faculties, institutes, lecturers, staff, and employees of the university.

The number 7, symbolizing wisdom and new beginnings, evokes a strong spirit of innovation in NEU’s 70th year. In an environment where the university’s staff, faculty members, and employees gather, the spring atmosphere is infused with a spirit of unity, confidence, and aspiration for breakthroughs.

In his speech at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – President of the University emphasized the special significance of the Year of the Horse 2026 as the university looks towards 70 years of formation, construction, and development. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, 70 years is a journey of intellect, dedication, and courage; a path of persistent service to the socio-economic development of the country.

Reflecting on 2025, the university continued to make comprehensive progress: enhancing academic quality to international standards; positive growth in academic research and international publications; synchronized implementation of digital transformation; expanded international collaboration; and the governance model was refined towards modernity, transparency, and efficiency. These achievements lay a solid foundation for entering a new development phase.

Entering 2026, the University President clearly identifies five strategic focal points: vigorously innovating the governance model; enhancing academic quality with a learner-centered approach; promoting science, technology, and innovation; strengthening comprehensive digital transformation; and intensifying internationalization to continue affirming its position in the region and globally.

The spirit of “Innovative Renewal – Aspiration to Reach Further” is emphasized not just as a message but as a call to action in every management decision, every teaching hour, and every research project. With a team of dedicated, responsible, and creative staff and faculty members, the National Economics University places its trust in a phase of faster, more sustainable development with a higher standing in the near future.

Concluding his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong shared some early Spring verses with the staff and faculty members. These simple yet emotionally rich lines vividly depicted the spirit of unity, innovation, and the aspiration to reach new heights of the University in this special anniversary year.

Within the program’s framework, the Party Committee of the National Economics University awarded the 45-year and 30-year Party membership badges to party members as per the decision of the Hanoi Party Committee. The ceremony was conducted solemnly, reflecting deep recognition and gratitude for individuals who have dedicated decades to the cause of education and Party building within the University.
