In August 2026, the International Training Institute and the Faculty of Environment, Climate Change, and Urban Studies at the National Economics University (NEU) in collaboration with Panasonic Vietnam organized the Launch Ceremony of the Gen G Ambassador 2026 program, attended by nearly 200 students, delegates, guests, and partners. As the fourth season since its inception in 2022, the program continues to provide a platform for young people to explore green living, circular economy, and CO₂ emission reduction, while encouraging initiatives that can be developed and implemented in practice.

The launch of Gen G Ambassador 2026 received enthusiastic support from young people, NEU students, and representatives from major universities in Hanoi
Attending the program from NEU were: Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh – Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh – Director of the International Training Institute; Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Truong – Head of the Faculty of Environment, Climate Change, and Urban Studies; along with university staff and faculty members. From Panasonic, Mr. Yokoyama Yu – Director of Panasonic Vietnam; and representatives from major universities in Hanoi.
With the theme “Green Circularity, Rapid Carbon Reduction,” Gen G Ambassador 2026 aims to connect and accompany young people interested in the environment, innovation, and sustainable development. The program is designed as a journey from idea formation, training, mentoring to testing and implementation, creating conditions for green initiatives to be gradually perfected and generate value for the community.
Initiated by Panasonic Vietnam in 2022 as part of the “Live Green with Gen G” campaign, the program has recorded over 600 initiatives from youth, with more than 20 potential projects receiving financial and professional support for practical implementation. In the 2026 season, the program is expected to run from August 2026 to March 2027, reaching approximately 10,000 young people nationwide.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh – Vice President of the University emphasized the role of the younger generation in the context of increasingly evident environmental issues. Accordingly, Gen G Ambassador not only creates a space for students to share their environmental concerns but also encourages them to transform these concerns into valuable solutions for the community.

In alignment with this spirit, Mr. Yokoyama Yu, Director of Panasonic Vietnam, expressed his desire to inspire and empower young Vietnamese to transform environmental concerns into actionable capabilities: “Environmental challenges require the participation of multiple stakeholders, with the younger generation playing a crucial role. Through the Gen G Ambassador 2026, Panasonic aims to inspire and empower young Vietnamese to turn environmental concerns into actionable capabilities. From an initial idea, with perseverance and determination, we hope to accompany you in creating positive impacts for Vietnam’s sustainable development.”

Experts in the field and guests share about daily habits that can change the journey toward a green lifestyle
At the Launch Ceremony, students had the opportunity to listen to insights from experts and guests about the journey toward a green lifestyle, changes in daily habits, and the role of the younger generation in addressing environmental issues. Real-life stories contributed to broadening students’ perspectives on sustainable development while encouraging each individual to start with changes suitable to their own lives.
In addition to the talk show, the program also offered interactive activities and mini-games, creating a space for students to learn about green living, the circular economy, and practical actions to reduce environmental impact.

Students participate in interactive activities and learn about green living at the program
One of the highlights of the Gen G Ambassador 2026 is the initiative development journey built through multiple stages. After the selection round, the Top 50 will participate in training activities and real-world experiences to review issues, refine approaches, and prepare for the pitching round.
The Top 20 projects will continue to be connected with a network of experts, partners, and mentors to develop solutions before presenting the projects to the Jury. The most outstanding initiatives reaching the Top 5 will receive financial, professional, and media support for implementation in the community over 2–3 months, with a total financial support package valued at up to 100 million VND.
The initiatives are evaluated based on their alignment with the program’s direction, novelty, feasibility, and value to the environment and community. Through this, the Gen G Ambassador 2026 not only encourages young people to propose new ideas but also provides conditions for these ideas to be verified, refined, and gradually applied in practice.

Students actively participate in exploring sustainable green initiatives
Starting from the NEU, the Gen G Ambassador 2026 will continue to expand its network through training activities, Unitour, pitching, and mentoring at various universities and the national youth entrepreneurship network. The connection between the University, businesses, experts, mentors, and the student community is expected to create additional space for nurturing and developing green initiatives.

In addition to the Gen G Ambassador, students explore further opportunities for scholarships, internships, and career development at Panasonic
The Gen G Ambassador 2026 is also part of a series of actions aimed at realizing the Panasonic GREEN IMPACT commitment, with the goal of achieving CO₂ emission neutrality across all Panasonic member companies globally by 2030 and creating a reduction impact of 300 million tons of CO₂ emissions across the entire value chain by 2050.
As the starting point for the Gen G Ambassador 2026, the National Economics University (NEU) contributes to connecting the program with the student community and young individuals interested in the environment, innovation, and sustainable development. Through the event, NEU students in particular and the youth community in general have the opportunity to access knowledge, stories, and practical perspectives on green living; while also expanding connections with young people who share the same concerns and proactive spirit for the environment.
