Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of NEU, delivers New Year greetings at the spring gathering

Speaking at the gathering, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong shared: “Looking back on 2024, we are deeply proud of NEU’s remarkable journey. The year marked an important milestone as NEU officially adopted its new university organizational model. This strategic transformation opens a period of breakthrough development, bringing the University closer to advanced higher education standards worldwide. It fulfills the aspirations of many generations of NEU faculty and students.

Along that journey, we have created memorable milestones together, from improving the quality of education, applying new technologies, and developing advanced curricula to affirming our international standing, expanding partnerships, and strengthening international quality accreditation… All of these are the results of persistent effort, a spirit of continuous innovation, and a collective that always looks ahead with unwavering confidence.”

Sharing the goals for 2025, Prof. Pham Hong Chuong affirmed that this spring, in the Year of the Snake 2025, we—the members of NEU—are facing a special spring of our own. We will have a year of extremely important tasks that must be completed, and completed with excellence, so that NEU can continue to develop strongly. We must successfully organize Party congresses at all levels and select the most outstanding representatives to serve on the Party Committee, ensuring an effective combination of experience and intellect with youth, renewal, and creativity. We must develop a strategic vision for a new stage of development. Strengthening the leadership team and appointing the President and Vice Presidents for the new term will be a central task of the highest importance to ensure stability, continuity, and renewal. We must continue to refine the governance structure, strengthen leadership capacity, and operate under the models of a modern university, a smart university, and a green university, striving to become a symbol of Vietnamese universities reaching out to the world. We will continue to innovate curricula, accelerate digital transformation, apply AI and Big Data, and build a modern, flexible learning environment. We must develop a faculty that meets international standards, promote scientific research, increase international publications, and develop highly applicable research projects that help address socioeconomic issues and support national policymaking. We must continue to affirm and enhance NEU’s standing.

“We are entering the new year not only with joy but also with determination. I believe that with consensus, solidarity, creativity, and responsibility, and by standing firmly together, we will continue to write glorious chapters in our history, taking NEU even further on our journey to conquer the heights of knowledge,” emphasized Pham Hong Chuong, President of NEU.
