In his opening remarks, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, welcomed the Ngee Ann Polytechnic delegation and NEU students participating in the program. He affirmed that, over the years, the program has provided many opportunities for students from the two institutions to connect through classes and a range of other engaging and enriching experiential activities, thereby helping to build and strengthen the sustainable, long-term relationship between NEU and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The Overseas Immersion Program is an annual collaborative program between the two institutions designed to promote academic and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Singapore. The program has been implemented at NEU since 2022, with nearly 500 students participating to date. It incorporates academic activities, workshops with businesses, and field visits, diplomatic activities, and opportunities to explore and learn about Vietnam’s economy and culture. Through the program, students will enhance their awareness and understanding of economic, political, and social issues in Vietnam and Singapore; improve their English proficiency and soft skills; and deepen their understanding of Vietnam–Singapore diplomatic relations. The first session of the program will take place from March 23 to March 29, 2025.
