Opening of the Overseas Immersion Program – Second Session, a Collaboration Between National Economics University and Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore
On the morning of April 8, 2025, the “Overseas Immersion Programme,” organized in collaboration with Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, opened at National Economics University (NEU).
Attending the opening ceremony were Dr. Dao Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of International Cooperation at NEU; Mr. LEE TECK HUI and Ms. CHANG STEPHANIE, delegation leaders from the School of Business and Accountancy at Ngee Ann Polytechnic; and 60 students participating in the program.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of International Cooperation at NEU, warmly welcomed the delegation of staff and students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Singapore). He also expressed his pleasure at welcoming students from both institutions to this meaningful international exchange program.

Dr. Dao Thanh Tung affirmed that the collaborative program between NEU and Ngee Ann Polytechnic has a long history of close ties and continues to grow stronger. Over its many years of implementation, the program has not only provided opportunities for learning, cultural exchange, and academic exchange for students from both institutions, but has also made an important contribution to strengthening successive generations of students’ capacity for international integration and broadening their global perspectives.
Dr. Dao Thanh Tung also emphasized that activities such as attending joint classes, participating in thematic discussions, experiencing cultural and social life, and working in teams on practical projects have enabled students from both institutions to learn from one another, develop creative thinking and a spirit of international cooperation, and enhance their ability to adapt to multicultural environments. These benefits are meaningful not only during the program but also serve as valuable assets in students’ future studies and careers.

The Overseas Immersion Program is an annual collaborative activity between NEU (Vietnam) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Singapore), organized to promote academic exchange and strengthen cultural understanding between the two countries. Since its official launch at NEU in 2022, the program has attracted more than 500 students, serving as an effective bridge in building an international, dynamic, and creative learning environment for students from both institutions.
The program offers a diverse and comprehensive range of activities, including academic activities such as classes and thematic workshops with support from businesses, alongside field trips to economic and cultural establishments characteristic of Vietnam. Students also participate in diplomatic exchanges and learn about the history, culture, and social life of the host country.
Through these practical experiences, the program not only helps students enhance their awareness and understanding of economic, political, and social issues in Vietnam and Singapore, but also contributes to developing their soft skills, improving their English proficiency, fostering global thinking, and strengthening their ability to work in multicultural environments. It also offers young people an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the friendly, cooperative relationship between the two countries amid increasingly extensive international integration.
The first session of the 2025 Overseas Immersion Program will officially take place from April 6 to April 12, 2025, promising many memorable and meaningful experiences for participating students.
