Conference on Admissions Information and Counseling Training for the 2025 Full-Time Undergraduate Program

On April 2, 2025, National Economics University (NEU) held a conference on admissions information and counseling training for the 2025 full-time undergraduate program to share the latest admissions information and the 2025 full-time undergraduate admissions plan, and to train faculty and staff from faculties and institutes to use the Orlabneu smart admissions counseling software.

An overview of the conference

Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU; Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs; leadership representatives from schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; members of the Admissions Council; members of the 2025 Full-Time Undergraduate Admissions Counseling Committee; and faculty members responsible for admissions counseling at faculties and institutes.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, delivers remarks

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, emphasized the importance of admissions counseling for the 2025 full-time undergraduate program. He also noted that the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) had recently issued Circular 06 amending and supplementing several provisions of the Regulations on Undergraduate Admissions. Shortly afterward, on March 28, 2025, NEU officially released its admissions information for the 2025 full-time undergraduate program.

With the goal of ensuring that complete, accurate, and timely admissions information reaches applicants and parents, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong expressed his hope that the conference would help faculty members update their knowledge of the latest information and understand important changes to admissions in 2025. This would enable faculty and staff to deliver more effective admissions counseling and support applicants in making the most suitable choices for their future.

Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, also expressed his hope that every faculty and staff member would become an “ambassador” for NEU—not only playing an important role in teaching but also inspiring, guiding, and supporting applicants on their journey toward university admission. Through effort, solidarity, and a strong sense of responsibility, the University community would work together to help make the 2025 admissions process a success.

Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs, presents a summary of new provisions in the Admissions Regulations and admissions information for the 2025 full-time undergraduate program

MSc. Hoang Thanh Ha, Senior Officer in charge of admissions at the Department of Academic Affairs, presents detailed admissions information for the 2025 full-time undergraduate program

This year, NEU is admitting students under 73 major/program codes, an increase of seven codes from 2024. The total admissions quota for the full-time undergraduate program is 8,200, with admission review methods similar to those used in 2024: direct admission under MOET regulations, admission review based on 2025 high school graduation examination scores, and combined admission review.

For admission review based on high school graduation examination results, the University has discontinued five subject combinations compared with 2024, retaining only four: A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), D01 (Mathematics, Literature, English), and D07 (Mathematics, Chemistry, English). There are no differences in admission review scores among these combinations.

For combined admission review, the University admits applicants with international SAT certificates showing scores of 1,200 or higher or ACT certificates showing scores of 26 or higher; applicants with competency assessment certificates showing HSA scores of 85 or higher, APT scores of 700 or higher, or TSA scores of 60 or higher; or applicants with international English language certificates showing at least IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 46, or TOEIC scores across four skills (Listening and Reading 785, Speaking 160, and Writing 150), combined with 2025 high school graduation examination scores or the HSA/APT/TSA scores specified above.

Accordingly, rules for establishing equivalent entry thresholds will be announced as soon as MOET issues its guidance. NEU will announce the conversion of admission cutoff scores across admission review methods and subject combinations no later than the announcement of minimum entry thresholds under MOET’s general schedule, expected after the release of the 2025 high school graduation examination results.

Dr. Pham Xuan Lam, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, introduces the Courses curriculum management software

MSc. Pham Huy Giang, Officer in charge of admissions information technology at the Department of Academic Affairs, introduces the Orlabneu smart admissions counseling software and provides training for staff responsible for admissions counseling at faculties and institutes

Also at the conference, faculty and staff received training and guidance on using the Courses curriculum management software and the Orlabneu admissions counseling software for counselors. Each counselor for each major will receive an account, and the software will automatically assign access to conversations corresponding to counseling content for that major, giving applicants opportunities to receive advice and interact online with admissions counselors.
