Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of NEU, expressed his gratitude to parents, lecturers and partner organizations for their continued support and contributions to the success of today’s generation of students.

Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong shared: “At this special moment, as you officially complete an important stage of your education, NEU is also preparing to celebrate its 70th anniversary—a proud journey for a university that has pioneered educational reform, nurtured talent and contributed to the country’s socioeconomic development.

Throughout that development, the high-quality program has played a particularly important role. Established with the mission of developing human resources with in-depth professional expertise and the capacity for global integration, the high-quality program has become one of the University’s most advanced and modern educational models, and one of its greatest sources of pride.

Today’s new graduates of the high-quality program are living proof of the success of an educational approach that emphasizes quality, innovation, depth and the confidence to integrate globally. The University believes that, with the solid foundation you have built, you are fully capable of adapting, leading and creating value in the future.”

Prof. Pham Hong Chuong emphasized: “Vietnam is entering a new era of development—an era of intellect, digital transformation, innovation and comprehensive integration. The future may bring many changes and challenges, but it is also full of opportunities for you to prove yourselves and contribute to society.

At this solemn moment, I would like to share a heartfelt message with you: ‘Live a life that is not only successful but also kind. Go far, but do not forget where you came from. Fly high, but always keep your heart connected to sincerity and compassion.’ I wish all our new graduates steady progress, good health, happiness and success on the journey ahead.”

At the ceremony, the new graduates also offered warm applause to express their gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, President of NEU, before he officially steps down on August 1 upon reaching the age limit for management positions.

Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong shared: “In 2014, I officially became a member of the NEU Board of Presidents. During more than six years serving as President, first under the University’s former organizational structure and then its current one, I have always wanted this university to truly become a home for faculty and staff. More importantly, it must be a welcoming home for all students—a place where you have a good learning environment and can develop the qualities needed to succeed in your careers.”

We understand that the pursuit of knowledge is a never-ending journey. We will carry with us the preparation our lecturers have given us as we continue moving forward, learning and contributing. At a time when our country is undergoing profound transformation, we hope to play a small but steadfast part in building the future.

At this solemn moment in our graduation ceremony, we bow in sincere gratitude to all our lecturers, who have accompanied us through four challenging and eventful years. We will always be proud to be students of NEU, a place that has cultivated talent and nurtured individuals who take responsibility for themselves and their communities.”

Speaking after the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, the top graduate in the High-Quality International Business Administration specialization, said: “I feel very happy and proud of my achievements today. They are a well-deserved reward for my efforts throughout this time.

Before entering university, I was still quite uncertain and had not really identified my passion or a clear direction for myself. As I explored academic programs, I realized that International Business could offer me a wide range of experiences, through which I could gradually discover what I truly enjoyed and wanted to pursue.

After four years of study, I am sincerely grateful for my family’s support and encouragement and to NEU, especially the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs (AEP), for creating a quality learning environment where I could learn from knowledgeable, dedicated lecturers and meet wonderful friends who have accompanied me throughout this journey.”

Sharing more about her study methods, Thu Huyen said: “For me, the most effective approach is hard work—but not studying with my head buried in books all the time. It means working hard with a plan and knowing how to balance study with recreation.

I usually make a specific plan for each course, such as which material I will study on a particular day or during a particular session, and set my own deadlines to finish within that time. During exam periods in particular, I prepare quite early, usually beginning to review about 1–2 months in advance so that I have enough time to cover all my courses thoroughly and sensibly.

Of course, discipline is also essential. Although I sometimes go a little ‘off track,’ preparing early gives me time to make adjustments.”

Thanks to her thorough preparation and hard work, Thu Huyen earned academic merit scholarships in all seven semesters at NEU and graduated with an impressive GPA of 3.99/4.0.

Thu Huyen also said that, looking back at her first year, she probably never imagined that she would one day become the top graduate. She therefore wanted to share a few words with applicants seeking admission to NEU, as well as students currently studying at the University: “You do not need to put too much pressure on yourself to be ‘outstanding’ from the very beginning. Achievements and grades are important because they are the clearest evidence of your effort, perseverance and hard work. However, what matters more is knowing that you are making an effort every day, and that you are doing it for yourself, not to compare yourself with anyone else.

Give your studies your all, but do not learn only from books. Actively build your knowledge and experience through part-time work, internships, projects or club activities. Most importantly, do not be afraid to ask questions, make mistakes or try new things. Opportunities are all around us, but only when you dare to open yourself up and step outside your comfort zone can you truly seize them.”

New graduates of the high-quality programs at the ceremony

Nguyen Hoang Anh Mai Sao, the top graduate of the high-quality Auditing program, also believes that perseverance and initiative are the most important factors in achieving strong academic results. She always strives to do even the simplest things well, such as listening attentively in class, taking thorough notes and readily asking friends or lecturers when she does not understand something.

Mai Sao also constantly reminded herself that her academic goals went beyond grades: they included earning scholarships to help ease her parents’ financial burden and repay her family’s trust and love. These simple reasons became a powerful source of motivation, helping her overcome moments of fatigue and maintain her commitment to learning.

During her studies at NEU, Mai Sao also actively participated in academic and extracurricular activities. Her achievements included consolation prizes in University-level scientific research in 2023 and 2024; first prize in Algebra at the 2024 NEU Mathematics Olympiad; the University-level “Student of Five Merits” title in 2022, 2023 and 2024; a place among the NEU Party Organization’s Top 50 in the “Fifth Political Essay Competition on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation in Hanoi, 2025”; and academic merit scholarships in all seven semesters, among other achievements.

Notably, as early as her third year at university, Mai Sao had the opportunity to intern at Deloitte Vietnam, one of the leading companies in auditing. Sharing her upcoming plans, the top NEU graduate said: “I plan to perform well at Deloitte Vietnam and gradually develop my professional expertise to become a highly competent auditor who always upholds professional integrity.” Mai Sao also hopes to pursue a master’s degree at the University in the future and is considering a suitable specialization.
