Following the preliminary site visit, on August 22, 2025, National Economics University (NEU), in collaboration with the Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation, opened the official site visit for the external evaluation of 12 academic programs at NEU.

Representing the Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation at the event were Dr. Nguyen Van Duong, Director of the Center; Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh, Deputy Director of the Center and Standing Member; Dr. Pham Minh Dam, Head of the Center’s Department of Evaluation and Recognition and Secretary of the Evaluation Team; Tran Thi Van, External Evaluation Team Supervisor; and representatives of the leadership of the Center’s units.

Representing the external evaluation teams were Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga, former Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and Head of the External Evaluation Team for Distance Education Academic Programs; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam, former President of the University of Danang and Head of the External Evaluation Team for Full-Time Academic Programs; and experts from both external evaluation teams.

Representing NEU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President; Dr. Dam Son Toai, Head of the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assurance; representatives of the leadership of schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; and University staff and specialists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh, Deputy Director of the Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation, expressed her hope that the site visit, through five days of official work and the expert teams’ review and evaluation, would provide a comprehensive “picture” of the University’s academic programs.

Dr. Phi Thi Nguyet Thanh also affirmed that the expert teams would work with accuracy, integrity, and objectivity to deliver rigorous evaluations and recommend practical solutions to help improve the quality of academic programs at NEU.

On behalf of NEU’s leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, welcomed the expert teams and expressed his pleasure at receiving them. He affirmed that throughout its nearly 70 years of development, the University has always made educational quality its top priority, regularly implementing measures for improvement and refinement based on recommendations from previous accreditation cycles.

Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong stated that NEU currently has 16 domestically accredited programs, 21 programs accredited under ACBSP standards (United States), and 15 programs accredited under FIBAA standards (Switzerland, Germany). The University is also preparing accreditation reports for 21 programs under FIBAA and is among the universities with the largest numbers of programs accredited to international standards nationwide.

The President of NEU thanked the Thang Long Center for Education Quality Accreditation for its confidence in assigning reputable experts to conduct the evaluation. He also expressed confidence that, with a systematic, rigorous, and objective approach, the teams would provide sound assessments and valuable recommendations, supporting the University in the next stage of its development.

The official site visit will take place from August 22 through August 26, 2025, covering eight full-time undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Relations, International Economics, E-Commerce, Commercial Business, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Entrepreneurship and Business Development, as well as four undergraduate distance education programs in Economic Law, Finance and Banking, Accounting, and Business Administration.

The external evaluation teams will also review supporting documentation, interview relevant stakeholder groups, and observe NEU’s facilities to verify the information and data in the University’s self-assessment reports. Based on this work, they will make recommendations to help the University improve and enhance the quality of education and training.
