Academic and Career Orientation Program for Cohort 67 Students in the ACCA-Integrated High-Quality Auditing Program at National Economics University

On the afternoon of October 3, 2025, National Economics University (NEU), in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), organized an academic and career orientation program for cohort 67 students in the ACCA-integrated high-quality auditing program.

An overview of the program

Representing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants at the program was Le Thi My Hanh, Head of External Relations, Education Division, ACCA Vietnam.

Representing NEU were Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs; leadership representatives from schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; and a large number of cohort 67 students in the ACCA-integrated high-quality auditing program.

The academic and career orientation program is part of a series of activities supporting the ACCA-integrated high-quality auditing program at NEU, jointly organized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and NEU exclusively for students of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs.

Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs, delivers remarks

In his opening remarks, Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs, emphasized that, amid international economic integration, the demand for high-quality professionals in accounting, auditing, finance, and management is becoming increasingly urgent. The ACCA-integrated high-quality auditing program, jointly delivered by NEU and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, aims to prepare graduates at the bachelor’s level to adapt and work effectively in a global environment.

According to Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, students enrolled in the program will receive a comprehensive education combining theory and practice while developing strategic capabilities, creative thinking, and professional skills. With the ACCA qualification, students have opportunities to join major corporations, particularly the Big Four accounting firms, while expanding their professional networks and advancing their careers in key corporate positions.

Le Thi My Hanh, Head of External Relations, Education Division, ACCA Vietnam, discusses the NEU–ACCA learning pathway with students

Discussing career prospects, Le Thi My Hanh, Head of External Relations, Education Division, ACCA Vietnam, emphasized that many ACCA members currently hold key positions, including chief executive officer, chief financial officer, chief risk officer, and department head, at auditing firms, banks, investment funds, and major domestic enterprises. According to Le Thi My Hanh, this demonstrates the value of the ACCA qualification in enhancing competitiveness in the labor market.

For the ACCA-integrated high-quality auditing program jointly delivered by ACCA and NEU, these career advantages offer students clear opportunities while they are still at university. The program not only provides knowledge and skills aligned with international standards but also creates a solid foundation for students to establish themselves early in major enterprises and global working environments.

Accordingly, graduates of the high-quality auditing program integrated with the international ACCA qualification will receive a high-quality bachelor’s degree from NEU and the Advanced diploma in Accounting and Business from ACCA, the world’s largest professional organization in accounting, auditing, and finance.

The program offers many distinctive advantages, including teaching by internationally experienced faculty from NEU alongside support from ACCA partner organizations. Students receive a comprehensive education encompassing theory and application, strategic capabilities, creativity, and practical skills. Students will take Applied Knowledge examinations at the University and Applied Skills examinations through ACCA’s global system at the same time as ACCA learners in other countries. Graduates of the program will have extensive opportunities to pursue master’s degrees at renowned universities such as the University of London and Oxford Brookes University. In addition, ACCA is committed to connecting students with corporate partners to ensure employment outcomes and providing skills training to meet employers’ needs while students are still studying at the University.

Pursuing the ACCA qualification thus gives students more opportunities to learn, expand their professional networks, and develop career opportunities in key corporate positions. According to ACCA Vietnam statistics from February 2020, 4.12% of ACCA members held chief executive officer positions; 31% were chief financial officers or heads of risk management divisions; approximately 25.6% were department heads; and the remainder held senior specialist positions at auditing firms, banks, securities companies, investment funds, and major enterprises in Vietnam.
