The political report presented by the Veterans’ Association Executive Committee provided a rigorous, comprehensive assessment of the results of the 2022-2025 term. Under the leadership of the Party Committee, with close guidance from the Hanoi Veterans’ Association and coordinated support from the University leadership and units throughout the University, the NEU Veterans’ Association implemented a coordinated range of measures to put the congress’s Resolution into practice through practical, effective activities.
Educational and communication activities were renewed in both content and format and linked to major political and historical events of the nation. Many activities with broad reach were organized, including a gathering of nearly 300 former faculty, staff, and students who had participated in the resistance wars; the digitization and publication of the “Golden Book,” preserving information on 61 fallen heroes who were University faculty, staff, and students; and the restoration of 50 photographs of fallen heroes in the Tradition Room.
During this period, the Association also organized numerous visits to historical sites to honor history and fallen heroes, including Dien Bien Phu, Pac Bo, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, Truong Son Cemetery, Dong Loc Junction, and Truong Bon… In addition, the Association jointly organized exchange programs, rallies, and seminars, particularly on major anniversaries such as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of All-People’s National Defense Day, and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The Association also devoted attention to activities honoring service and supporting the community. During 2022-2025, it mobilized resources worth VND 284 million to build and repair gratitude houses, helping veterans and families eligible for preferential policies overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
During 2022-2025, the NEU Veterans’ Association recorded many outstanding achievements, which were recognized and honored by Veterans’ Associations at various levels and the University. In particular, the Association received the 2023 Outstanding Emulation Flag from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, along with Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee and the Hanoi Veterans’ Association. These distinguished awards affirmed the Association’s standing and credibility in the “Exemplary Veterans” emulation movement.
Recognition extended beyond the collective to many individual members. One Association delegate was selected to attend the 2024 National “Exemplary Veterans” Patriotic Emulation Congress, a major event bringing together the country’s most outstanding representatives. In addition, the Central Committee awarded two individual Certificates of Merit, while the Hanoi Veterans’ Association awarded four Certificates of Merit to members with outstanding contributions.
The NEU Veterans’ Association also received recognition from the University and other agencies and organizations, including three Certificates of Commendation from the President of NEU for the Association’s Executive Committee, along with numerous Certificates of Merit and Certificates of Commendation from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Vietnam National Education Union, and other units for its members.
These distinguished awards clearly demonstrate the efforts, sense of responsibility, and practical contributions of the NEU Veterans’ Association in strengthening its organization, upholding the tradition of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers,” and supporting the University’s development.
