Representing the international education quality accreditation organization FIBAA in the external evaluation were Marco Haid, Head of External Evaluation Team No. 1; Marie Bielke, Head of External Evaluation Team No. 3; and experts from both external evaluation teams.

Representing NEU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU; and Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong, Chair of the NEU Trade Union. Following its quality self-assessment process, NEU completed and formally submitted self-assessment reports for 21 academic programs to FIBAA by August 2025. After reviewing the self-assessment documentation, FIBAA established five external evaluation teams and conducted external evaluation activities in December 2025 and January 2026 to clarify the content presented in the reports and gain deeper insight into the University’s activities, enabling a comprehensive and objective assessment of the educational quality of NEU’s undergraduate programs.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, emphasized the significance of this evaluation, describing it as an important step in NEU’s strategy to enhance quality and advance international integration.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong noted that NEU was proud to have completed institutional accreditation and been recognized as meeting quality standards in March 2024, with a further 15 academic programs recognized as meeting standards in September 2024. These results affirm the effectiveness of teaching, learning, research, and community service, while demonstrating the University’s strong commitment to quality and stakeholder expectations.

FIBAA is currently regarded as one of the most prestigious accreditation organizations in Europe and worldwide, accrediting educational institutions and academic programs in management, economics, law, and the social sciences against European standards. NEU’s continued participation in accreditation for 21 academic programs affirms the University’s long-term commitment to assuring and continually enhancing the quality of higher education.

Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, emphasized: “We believe that quality is not only an accreditation criterion but also a long-term commitment to providing better opportunities for generations of students. NEU is ready to work closely with the evaluation teams for Cluster 1 and Cluster 3 and provide complete and timely information to support their work. The University also gratefully acknowledges the efforts of all lecturers, students, and staff throughout the self-assessment process and preparations for the external evaluation.”

Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong also expressed his hope for key recommendations from FIBAA’s panel of experts to help NEU continue improving and enhancing the quality of its academic programs, thereby affirming the quality of its teaching, learning, and research.
