Conference on Communications Work in 2025 and Directions for 2026
On December 23, 2025, National Economics University (NEU) held a conference on communications work in 2025 and directions for 2026. The conference provided an important opportunity to review and comprehensively assess the results of communications activities in 2025, while discussing and proposing directions and solutions to improve communications effectiveness in 2026 as the University prepares for many important milestones and strategic tasks.

An overview of the conference
Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President; leadership representatives from schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; faculty members serving as administrators of second-level websites; and members of the communications contributor network across the University.
As higher education undergoes profound changes in response to demands for innovation, integration, and digital transformation, communications plays an increasingly pivotal role in fulfilling political and social tasks, sharing core values, and affirming NEU’s reputation and brand. Communications not only connects the University with society but also helps build internal consensus, foster innovation, and enhance the social responsibility of faculty, staff, and learners.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, affirmed the increasingly important role of communications during the University’s strategic transformation.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, communications must go beyond reporting news and covering activities to be recognized as a strategic management tool that helps share core values and enhance NEU’s reputation, image, and standing within the higher education and scientific research system.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong also acknowledged and commended the outstanding results of the University’s communications work in 2025, particularly the central role of the Department of Communications in organizing and disseminating information about important political and academic events. The President also emphasized that solidarity and coordinated efforts among units provide an essential foundation for the effectiveness and reach of internal communications.
Outlining directions for the coming period, particularly 2026 as NEU approaches its 70th anniversary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong stated that communications needs to “lead, accompany, and amplify” the University’s development strategy. Communications must be closely aligned with medium- and long-term strategic goals, clearly reflecting the University’s mission in education, scientific research, innovation, and social responsibility through authentic, emotionally compelling stories from its own lecturers, students, and administrators.
The President particularly emphasized the view that “every staff member, lecturer, and student is a communications ambassador,” with every professional activity, class session, research project, and individual action contributing to NEU’s image and brand. The University will also continue to strengthen digital communications with a learner-centered approach, while prioritizing investment in digital infrastructure, resources, and support mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness, professionalism, and influence of communications in the new stage of development.
