Representatives of the faculties and institutes present their proposals
After more than two hours of continuous, productive work, members of the University’s Science and Training Council reached a strong consensus and approved in principle the establishment of five new programs, providing the basis for implementing the next steps in accordance with regulations. The programs align with the University’s educational development strategy and meet societal needs.
The five new undergraduate programs to be introduced at NEU in 2024 fall within the fields of mathematics and statistics, and computing and information technology. They are Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Security. Thus, if these five programs are successfully developed, NEU will add mathematics and statistics as a new field of study, supplementing the 10 fields in which the University currently offers programs.
