On July 7, 2024, a student delegation from National Economics University (NEU) returned to Hanoi, successfully concluding two weeks of study and cultural experiences at Guangxi Minzu University in Nanning, China.

Guangxi Minzu University is located beside the beautiful Acacia Lake in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Established in 1952, it is one of the leading universities in Guangxi Province.

This cultural and language experience program was developed under the cooperation agreement previously signed between the two universities to give students opportunities to study, gain firsthand experiences, and appreciate the culture and daily life of people in China.

During their two weeks in Nanning, the students visited Guangxi Minzu University’s square and well-known tourist attractions in Nanning, including Guanyin Temple (within the Qingxiu Mountain grounds), the Zhuang Ethnic Museum, Nanning’s old quarter, Xiangsi Town, and Nanning Night, among others.

The students also attended cultural classes to learn about traditional Chinese arts such as painting, traditional dance, and paper cutting. They were all delighted to weave lovely dragonflies by hand as gifts for their loved ones in the traditional cord-weaving class and to immerse themselves in graceful movements during the traditional Chinese dance class, among other activities.

The students also had opportunities to experience modern technologies, trying their hand at playing chess against a robot for the first time and eating at the university’s smart dining hall, where they scanned QR codes to collect their food and dine without service staff. These were truly fascinating experiences for all the students participating in the program.

At the end of the program, the NEU students received certificates of course completion from Guangxi Minzu University. “Holding our certificates, we feel that time has flown by so quickly. It seems like only yesterday that we arrived here, feeling unfamiliar with everything, and now we are already about to return home. Our time here has truly given all of us happy, unforgettable memories,” shared one student in the delegation.
