On the afternoon of April 23, 2026, National Economics University and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam held a signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement for the 2026–2029 period, marking a new development phase in the partnership between the two entities, aiming to build a strategic, long-term, and effective partnership.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) were: Mr. Le Quang Vinh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh – Member of the Board of Directors; Mr. Ho Van Tuan – Deputy General Director, along with representatives of the leadership of the Head/Deputy units of Vietcombank’s Headquarters and representatives of the leadership of the departments of Vietcombank Ha Thanh Branch.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – President expressed his delight that the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam and the National Economics University continue to strengthen and elevate the partnership that has been built over many years. The University President emphasized that NEU and Vietcombank share many similarities in their status and development orientation as both are leading organizations in their respective fields, aiming towards quality standards and international integration.

Building on the traditional cooperation, this signing is expected to open a new development phase with practical cooperation content, increasingly going deeper and more effectively. In which, the two sides will strengthen coordination in training and developing high-quality human resources; expand research activities, policy consulting in the field of finance and banking, especially in areas of risk management and sustainable development. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong hopes Vietcombank will continue to accompany the University in building a learning environment connected with practice, supporting the implementation of lab models, applying technology and specialized software in training, thereby enhancing practical skills for students.

In addition, NEU President also acknowledged and appreciated Vietcombank’s companionship in social responsibility activities, scholarship support, creating internship and recruitment opportunities, as well as the participation of banking experts in teaching activities, sharing practical experiences with students.

Notably, many leaders of Vietcombank are alumni of National Economics University (NEU), returning to participate in programs and activities as partners, companions, and supporters of the University on its development journey. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, this not only demonstrates the long-standing relationship between the University and its alumni but also clearly reflects the quality of education, as many alumni have matured and hold important positions in major organizations, serving as clear evidence affirming the University’s educational quality and reputation in practice.

Affirming the determination to effectively implement the signed agreements, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong emphasized that both parties will continue to closely coordinate to bring the cooperation agreements into substantive effect, contributing to further strengthening the relationship between NEU and Vietcombank, while also creating practical value for learners and society.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Vinh – General Director of Vietcombank extended congratulations to the National Economics University on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, while expressing appreciation for the University’s position and role within Vietnam’s higher education system. According to him, National Economics University is a leading institution in the fields of economics, management, and business administration, training many generations of high-quality personnel, experts, and managers, making significant contributions to policy-making and socio-economic development of the country, including the banking sector.

Mr. Le Quang Vinh stated that Vietcombank is currently one of the leading banks in Vietnam with a strong financial foundation, high operational quality, and a sustainable development orientation. The bank continuously promotes digital transformation, enhances management capacity, and focuses on fulfilling social responsibilities, especially in education through sponsorship programs, scholarships, and digital financial solutions supporting the university in management and cashless payments.

In the context of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, the General Director of Vietcombank also emphasized the need to strengthen the connection between the university and enterprises to bridge the gap between theory and practice, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources. Accordingly, the cooperation between Vietcombank and National Economics University is expected to create practical values through a close connection between training and recruitment, promoting academic research activities, and developing academic programs aligned with the practical needs of the industry.

In addition, both parties will collaborate to implement modern financial and banking solutions, build a synchronized digital payment ecosystem, enhancing the experience for staff, faculty members, and students. Simultaneously, Vietcombank is ready to accompany the University in sharing experiences, participating in teaching, advising, and supporting training to improve the quality of human resources.

Affirming the significance of the event, Mr. Le Quang Vinh emphasized that today’s signing ceremony marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation between the two entities, aiming to build an effective linkage model between higher education institutions and enterprises, thereby contributing to the overall development of the economy.

According to the agreement, both parties agreed to build a strategic partnership based on the principles of voluntariness, equality, and mutual benefit, to maximize each party’s strengths and support each other in the process of sustainable development. The cooperation activities focus on four main pillars: collaboration in training, academic research, and human resource development; cooperation in sponsorship, scholarships, and social welfare; provision and use of financial and banking services; cooperation in communication and brand development.

Accordingly, both parties will strengthen the connection between training and recruitment, create internship and employment opportunities, and prioritize the use of high-quality human resources from National Economics University; while also promoting research through coordinated projects, data sharing, and the involvement of Vietcombank experts.

In addition, Vietcombank will consider supporting scholarships, facilities, and accompanying the University’s activities; both parties will collaborate to implement modern financial solutions, develop the digital ecosystem, and enhance communication and brand building. The cooperation contents will be concretized through a closely coordinated mechanism, ensuring effectiveness and practicality in each phase.
