NEU and ANZIIF Strengthen Collaboration to Enhance Professional Standards in the Insurance Industry
As part of efforts to enhance international collaboration in training and developing human resources in the insurance sector, on the morning of May 21, 2026, the leadership of the National Economics University welcomed and held discussions with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) to exchange views on training collaboration, enhancing professional standards, and promoting sustainable development of the insurance market in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the program, NEU, in collaboration with ANZIIF, co-organized a seminar themed “Sustainable Growth through Customer Value and Professional Standards for Vietnam’s Life Insurance Market.”

Attending the program, from the Vietnam Insurance Association, were: Mr. Ngo Trung Dung – Deputy Secretary General of the Association. From ANZIIF were: Mr. Mark Silveira – General Manager of Industry Relations; Ms. Thao Tran – Regional Director for Asia; Mr. Luke Hyde – Deputy General Manager of Policy, along with representatives from domestic and international insurance organizations and enterprises.
From NEU, attendees included: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice President; Dr. Dao Thanh Tung – Head of the International Cooperation Department; Dr. Vu Van Ngoc – Dean of the School of Advanced Program; Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi – Dean of the College of Business, Director of the Institute of Commerce & International Economics; Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh – Vice Dean of the School of Business, Head of the Insurance Faculty; along with representatives from various Schools, Departments, Faculties, Institutes, and Centers affiliated with the University.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the development trends of Vietnam’s life insurance market, the need to enhance the quality of human resources, and the promotion of training collaboration aligned with international professional standards. The leadership of NEU affirmed the University’s commitment to expanding international collaboration, particularly in highly applicable and integrative fields such as finance and insurance, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and the competitive capacity of students in a global environment.
Immediately following the meeting, the Insurance Faculty – School of Business – NEU, in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), organized a seminar themed “Sustainable Growth through Customer Value and Professional Standards for Vietnam’s Life Insurance Market.”

In his opening remarks at the seminar, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Deputy Director of the University emphasized the role of international collaboration in enhancing the quality of training and standardizing the human resources in the insurance sector in Vietnam.
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, since 2016, NEU has been authorized by ANZIIF to deliver the Non-Life Insurance Diploma Program, with over 1,000 participants and more than 300 students obtaining ANZIIF certification. Notably, in 2026, ANZIIF officially authorized the University to implement the Life Insurance Program, marking a new development phase in the partnership between the two parties.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu affirmed: “We believe that the in-depth exchanges and insights shared by experts at the seminar will positively contribute to enhancing customer value, reinforcing professional standards, and promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s life insurance market.”
Within the framework of the Seminar, experts and business representatives provided practical insights and international experiences related to the opportunities and challenges of Vietnam’s life insurance market; building sustainable growth based on customer value; as well as enhancing professional standards and the quality of human resources in the insurance sector amidst the deepening digital transformation and international integration.
