On the afternoon of May 21, 2026, a delegation from Ufa State Aviation Technical University (UUST), Russian Federation, led by Dr. Vadim P. Zakharov – Rector, along with Dr. Rita Filipova – Vice Rector in charge of International Collaboration, paid a visit and worked to discuss cooperation directions in training, academic research, and promoting academic exchange at National Economics University.

Representing National Economics University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice President; and Dr. Dao Thanh Tung – Head of the International Collaboration Department welcomed and worked with the UUST delegation.

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu emphasized the long-standing traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, while affirming that National Economics University always attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with prestigious Russian educational institutions in the context of promoting the internationalization of higher education and strengthening global academic connectivity.

Introducing an overview of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu shared the outstanding achievements of National Economics University in education and training, scientific research, innovation, and international integration. Currently, the University continues to expand its international partnership network, develop joint training programs, promote student and faculty exchanges, and strengthen collaborative research activities with universities and research institutes worldwide.

On behalf of Ufa University of Science and Technology, Dr. Vadim P. Zakharov expressed his admiration for the scale, training quality, and international development orientation of National Economics University. He noted that UUST is one of the major higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, with strengths in science and technology, engineering, economics, information technology, and innovation. UUST also maintains an extensive cooperation network with numerous universities and international research organizations.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides discussed potential areas of cooperation in the coming period, including the implementation of student and faculty exchange programs, the organization of international scientific conferences, and the promotion of joint research in digital economy, innovation, technology, and modern governance. The two universities also expressed their interest in enhancing cultural and academic exchange activities between students of both institutions.

The meeting was conducted in an open, cordial, and productive atmosphere, opening up many promising prospects for cooperation between National Economics University and Ufa University of Science and Technology, thereby further strengthening educational and scientific cooperation relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the new stage of development. At the end of the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Technology and the University’s system of research and technology practice laboratories to gain further insight into the facilities, training orientation, and the innovation and digital transformation ecosystem currently being implemented at the University.
