Inauguration of the Distance Learning Program 2026: Nearly 1,000 New Students Join the National Economics University

On April 5, 2026, the National Economics University held the Inauguration Ceremony for the first batch of the undergraduate Distance Learning Program in 2026 in the Northern region, marking the beginning of a new educational journey for nearly 1,000 new students in a modern, flexible learning environment.

Attending the ceremony, from the partner units were: Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Eastern Multimodal Training JSC; Ms. Vo Thi Thao – Director of the Admissions Center of AUM Vietnam Training Services Consulting JSC, Hanoi Area;

From the National Economics University were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Quang Vinh – Director of the Distance Learning Center; along with representatives of NEU schools, departments, faculties, institutes, centers, students, their families, relatives, and friends.

In his speech at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong stated that National Economics University, with 70 years of establishment and development, has affirmed its prestige and quality of education, being one of the higher education institutions with many internationally accredited programs. Currently, over 50% of NEU’s academic programs have been accredited by reputable international organizations, and efforts continue to accredit more programs to international standards, demonstrating a commitment to continuously improving educational quality.

Regarding the distance learning program, 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of its establishment and development, affirming the position and reputation of the E-learning model in the context of higher education undergoing many changes due to technological impacts. This is a suitable training method for many learners, especially those who are working while studying, needing flexibility in balancing work, family, and study.

Emphasizing the characteristics of distance learning, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong suggested that learners need to be proactive, disciplined, and highly determined in their studies; he also recommended that new students quickly develop a scientific study plan, effectively use their time to complete the program on schedule. The University is committed to providing favorable conditions in terms of faculty members, learning materials, and support systems, accompanying learners throughout their studies, yet the decisive factor remains the effort and perseverance of each student.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong affirmed that NEU will always create the most conducive learning environment, from the faculty members, learning resources system to the training platform and support services, with continuous collaboration from specialized units and the Distance Learning Center. This serves as a solid foundation for learners to confidently pursue their journey of knowledge.

However, the Préident also emphasized that success does not come from available conditions but is determined by the will and perseverance of each student. Only by maintaining a serious, persistent learning spirit and continuously striving through each phase can learners conquer their set goals and create sustainable value for themselves.

Representing the new students, Vu Duong Ngoc Anh – a student of the Economic Law program expressed the honor of becoming a student at the National Economics University, while affirming the determination to study seriously, proactively, and persistently to complete the academic program. The new student also stated the effort to balance work, life, and study, effectively utilizing the distance learning opportunities to enhance personal knowledge and capabilities.

The opening ceremony not only marks the beginning of a new learning journey but also opens up development opportunities for learners in the context of the increasingly advancing digital education. With the University’s support and the determination of each individual, the new students are expected to successfully complete the program, contributing to affirming the quality of education and the prestige of the National Economics University in Vietnam’s higher education system.
