The twenty-year development of the Advanced, High-Quality, POHE, and Business Analytics programs has been a journey during which the National Economics University has gradually expanded international collaboration, approached advanced training standards, and created additional learning and career development opportunities for students. Throughout this journey, universities, professional organizations, professors, and international experts have not only been collaborative partners but have also become companions with the University in the process of innovation and enhancing the quality of education.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho – Director of the National Economics University delivers a speech
In his speech at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho – Director of the National Economics University emphasized that internationalization in education is not merely about program exchange or the transfer of teaching technology. More importantly, it is a commitment to jointly elevate standards, broaden perspectives, and prepare students with the capacity to think, work, and lead in a global environment.
Since the implementation of the Advanced programs in 2006, internationalization has increasingly become a significant driving force in the development of the National Economics University. For the University, internationalization is not merely about exchanging academic programs or transferring teaching technology, but also a commitment to jointly elevate academic standards, broaden perspectives, and prepare students with the capacity to learn, work, and lead in a global environment.
Over the years, the National Economics University has established collaborative relationships with many educational institutions worldwide such as California State University, Long Beach and San Bernardino; Macquarie University; Griffith University; Saxion University of Applied Sciences; University of Waikato; University of East Anglia, and many other universities, thereby gradually integrating international academic standards into the University’s educational environment.
Parallel to university collaboration is the connection with international professional organizations such as ACCA, CFA Institute, and ANZIIF. The integration of widely recognized professional certifications into certain academic programs has contributed to strengthening the link between academic knowledge and professional standards, while also enhancing students’ readiness to meet the demands of the international labor market.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, building on the established foundation, the National Economics University aims to become a leading multidisciplinary university in the region by 2035, recognized for its quality education in economics, business, and management, while deeply integrating into the global higher education community.
To realize this vision, the University focuses on three orientations. Firstly, it continues to enhance quality and promote international accreditation of academic programs, while expanding collaboration with ACCA, CFA Institute, and ANZIIF into new fields. Additionally, NEU will expand its network of partner universities to increase opportunities for student and faculty exchange, joint research, and the development of dual-degree programs; simultaneously investing in digital transformation and innovative teaching methods to equip learners with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing world.
In the development orientation of education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho believes that the quality of education is not only reflected in scale but more importantly in depth, with the goal of training learners with solid expertise, critical thinking, ethical foundations, intercultural competence, and leadership qualities. Therefore, partnerships with international universities and professional organizations continue to play an important role in facilitating students’ access to international environments and pursuing widely recognized academic and professional standards.
In the next phase, the National Economics University will continue to strengthen its Advanced and High-Quality Programs; deepen relationships with professional organizations; attract and develop an outstanding faculty team both domestically and internationally; and create an academic environment where capable students are challenged, supported, and inspired to maximize their potential. This is also how the University continues its 70-year legacy of development and contributes to the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam in the coming decades.
