Representing the University’s leadership at the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chair of the University Council and Chair of the Alumni Network Executive Board; MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management and Secretary General of the Alumni Network; Ngo Minh Duc, Head of the Alumni Liaison Committee in Southern Vietnam; and Dinh Van Duc, Head of the Alumni Liaison Committee in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. Also attending were nearly 100 alumni from the Alumni Liaison Committee in Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

At the event, Dinh Van Duc reported on alumni activities in Ba Ria – Vung Tau over the past 30 years. When the committee was established on October 25, 1994, it initially had only a small number of alumni. However, its members all recognized that connections were more important and necessary than ever for alumni living far from home and building their lives and careers. Over the past 30 years, many programs have been carried out, including annual activities such as gatherings, visits to fellow alumni, business networking and sports. These activities have helped strengthen ties within the alumni community in Ba Ria – Vung Tau and support its continued development.

On behalf of NEU’s leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council, affirmed that alumni in Ba Ria – Vung Tau had come together and begun organizing activities very early, making them a source of pride for the University in its alumni engagement efforts.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho described this as a very special liaison committee, located the farthest away geographically and with the longest history of activities. He noted that this demonstrated that, wherever they are, alumni extend NEU’s reach and represent its brand in society. On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho presented the President’s Certificate of Merit to the Alumni Liaison Committee in Ba Ria – Vung Tau for its many contributions to local alumni activities and the development of the nationwide alumni network.
