Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh – Vice President of the National Economics University stated that the robust development of artificial intelligence, automation, platform economy, flexible employment models, and the demand for sustainable development are profoundly changing the organization of work, skill structures, labor relations, and the competitiveness of organizations.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh, the ongoing shifts are not merely technological changes but are directly reshaping both supply and demand in the labor market. Job instability is increasing, the lifecycle of skills is shortening, while new labor generations such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha bring different expectations regarding work environments, development opportunities, and life balance.

“For Vietnam, this is both a severe challenge of the risk of productivity lag and an opportunity to make a leap in developing high-quality human resources. Proactively identifying future employment trends, updating advanced human resource management knowledge, and proposing appropriate policy solutions are crucial for national competitiveness,” emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh.

The Vice President of the National Economics University affirmed that, as a key research and training center in economics, management, and business administration, the National Economics University is always committed to pioneering in solving major practical development issues. Organizing the Conference continues to demonstrate the University’s efforts in connecting academic knowledge with the needs of the labor market and the business community.

Guiding the discussion sessions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh suggested that scientists, experts, and delegates focus on three key areas. First is identifying new employment trends, forecasting labor structure shifts by 2030, with a vision to 2045, and proposing appropriate policies on social welfare, non-traditional employment, and labor migration. Next are digital transformation solutions in human resource management, the application of artificial intelligence, and data analytics in decision-making processes. Additionally, the Conference should clarify breakthrough solutions for retraining, skill enhancement, and promoting cooperation mechanisms between the State, educational institutions, and enterprises to build a digital leadership team and a workforce that meets global standards.

Following these orientations, the presentations at the Conference approached the future of employment and human resource management from various perspectives, creating a continuous exchange from macro forecasts to practical applications in enterprises and the need for educational innovation.

At the Conference, experts analyzed and forecasted Vietnam’s labor market by 2030, with a vision to 2045, in the context of economic structural shifts, thereby providing a quantitative basis to identify changes in employment structure and labor demand. From this macro picture, delegates continued to discuss the practicalities of human resource management in the global business environment, particularly the requirements for attracting, developing, retaining talent, and building organizational culture.

Topics on global skill development, training, and retraining of Vietnam’s workforce in the era of artificial intelligence also garnered the attention of delegates. Additionally, lessons from the practical digital transformation of human resource management in enterprises provided many insights for innovating human resource management training activities in Vietnam.

Within the framework of the Conference, the National Economics University and Global JobOKO Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding, opening up opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two parties in training, research, and labor market connection.

Assoc.
