Learning outcomes for undergraduate academic programs in law<\/strong><\/p>\n

On March 14, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) issued Decision 678\/Q\u0110-BGD\u0110T<\/a> on standards for undergraduate academic programs in law.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, upon graduation from undergraduate programs, learners must meet the learning outcome requirements of the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework and the following minimum competency requirements:<\/p>\n

(1) Knowledge:<\/p>\n

– Be able to apply comprehensive theoretical knowledge and basic practical knowledge of law, including: the theory and history of the state and law; political and legal doctrines; constitutional law and human rights; the legal profession and legal ethics; legal reasoning and writing skills; administrative law; economic law; international law; civil law; and criminal law.<\/p>\n

– Be able to apply basic knowledge of politics, society, history, culture, and national traditions.<\/p>\n

(2) Skills:<\/p>\n

– Be able to communicate and interact in a friendly and effective manner;<\/p>\n

– Have skills in summarizing, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating data, information, and legal provisions;<\/p>\n

– Have critical thinking skills;<\/p>\n

– Have basic skills in legal practice, issue identification, and resolution of legal issues;<\/p>\n

– Have skills in expressing and presenting specialized knowledge, arguments, viewpoints, and legal solutions orally or in writing; be able to draft legal documents;<\/p>\n

– Have foreign language proficiency at Level 3 or higher under the Six-Level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam; be able to apply information technology effectively to support work, search for information, and look up legal documents online, and meet digital competency requirements under current regulations.<\/p>\n

(3) Autonomy and responsibility:<\/p>\n

– Be loyal to the Fatherland, demonstrate political awareness and firm ideological convictions, and uphold the rule of law; support innovation and protect justice and human rights; demonstrate a commitment to serving the people and the community and protecting national interests;<\/p>\n

– Be honest, demonstrate integrity, exercise care, be receptive to feedback, show understanding, and uphold legal ethics;<\/p>\n

– Be able to work independently or in teams; demonstrate creativity; be able to apply knowledge and skills autonomously and responsibly in the field of law; be able to adapt to the legal professional environment amid changing circumstances;<\/p>\n
