On the morning of July 30, 2026, the leadership of the National Economics University held a working session with a delegation from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka, led by Dr. Madhura Senevirathna, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Overview of the Working Session<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The visit was organized with the support of the British Council in Vietnam as part of a program to research and exchange experiences in higher education governance and transnational education (TNE). Over the years, the British Council has actively promoted policy dialogue activities, facilitated international collaboration, and shared experiences in the field of higher education, prioritizing the development of TNE programs and ensuring quality assurance.<\/p>\n\n

Attending the working session on behalf of the National Economics University were: Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh – Vice President; Dr. Dao Thanh Tung – Head of the International Cooperation Department; Dr. Vu Van Ngoc – Dean, Center of Advanced Education Programs; Dr. Dam Son Toai – Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh – Dean, International School of Management and Economics; along with representatives of the university’s leadership, staff, and faculty members.<\/p>\n\n

In his remarks at the session, Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh – Vice President of the University, warmly welcomed the Sri Lankan delegation to the university and provided an overview of NEU’s development, internationalization strategy, and plans to expand collaboration with global partners. He affirmed the university’s commitment to enhancing international connections, improving training quality, and promoting academic cooperation activities. According to Prof. Dr. To Trung Thanh, internationalization is not only a driver for enhancing training quality and academic research but also a foundation for NEU to expand its network of partners, strengthen academic connections, and assert its position on the international stage.<\/p>\n\n

Within the framework of the session, representatives from the National Economics University shared experiences in implementing internationalization strategies, developing and managing transnational education (TNE) programs, and collaboration models with universities in the United Kingdom and various international partners. Both sides also discussed the implementation of international training programs within the context of Vietnam’s higher education legal framework, quality assurance mechanisms, accreditation, and compliance with regulations for transnational education models.<\/p>\n\n

The Sri Lankan delegation highly appreciated NEU’s practical experiences in developing international joint training programs, quality management mechanisms, and building a network of cooperation with foreign partners. Both sides also shared the advantages and challenges in the process of internationalizing higher education, exchanging numerous experiences to aid in the planning and refinement of higher education policies.<\/p>\n\n

During the meeting, both parties discussed the prospects for collaboration between the National Economics University (NEU) and the educational management agencies and universities of Sri Lanka in the near future. In the spirit of enhancing connectivity and developing partnerships, both sides agreed to continue exchanging information and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas such as transnational education (TNE) program development, faculty and student exchanges, academic research, quality assurance in education, and the implementation of joint academic programs.<\/p>\n\n
