On May 8, the School of Trade and International Economics – National Economics University organized the kick-off event for the series celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Institute and the opening of the Employment Connection Program \u201cSTIE Connect – STIE Job Fair 2026\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Program Overview<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Attending the program were: Mr. Le Xuan Thanh \u2013 Secretary of the Central Theoretical Council; Mr. Tran Van Trong \u2013 General Secretary of the Vietnam E-commerce Association, VECOM; Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi \u2013 Director of the Institute for Strategic and Policy Research, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Hoang Ngoc Anh \u2013 President of the Club for Director Training Classes in Hai Phong.<\/p>\n\n

From National Economics University, there were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong \u2013 President; Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi \u2013 Rector of College of Business, Dean of School of Trade & International Economics; Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat \u2013 Chairman of the Scientific & Training Council; along with representatives of the leadership from Schools, Departments, Faculties, Institutes, Centers, faculty members, and a large number of alumni and students from the School of Trade and International Economics.<\/p>\n\n

In 1956, the Trade Economics sector under the Faculty of Industry – Agriculture – Trade, the predecessor of today’s Institute of Commerce and International Economics, was established and has grown alongside the development history of National Economics University.<\/p>\n\n

Over 70 years of establishment and development, the Institute of Commerce and International Economics has consistently focused on enhancing the quality of academic programs and academic research, aiming to train students with strong professional competence, global leadership thinking, creativity, and high adaptability in a multicultural environment.<\/p>\n\n

Currently, the School of Trade and International Economics offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in: International Business, International Economics, Business Commerce, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, E-commerce. The School manages 2 academic programs entirely in English and 1 international collaboration program: the Logistics and Supply Chain Management program in English, the International Economics program in English, and the Bachelor of Business program in collaboration with the University of Waikato (New Zealand) in Digital Business and Supply Chain Management.<\/p>\n\n

The Employment Connection Program \u201cSTIE Connect – STIE Job Fair\u201d is the inaugural event for the series celebrating the Institute’s tradition and aims to commemorate the 70th anniversary of National Economics University, attracting 22 enterprises and over 500 students from the School of Trade and International Economics, primarily third and final-year students.<\/p>\n\n

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi – Rector of Business College, Dean of School of Trade and International Economics, stated that the Institute’s job connection program has been held annually for over 10 years. Previously, this activity was conducted within the framework of the National Economics University’s Career Days. The year 2026 marks the first time the Institute of Commerce and International Economics is organizing its own job connection program, as part of the series of activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Institute’s founding.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, the Institute’s training scale has rapidly expanded in recent times, leading to an increasing demand for recruitment connections from businesses. This is why, alongside participating in the University’s general Career Days, the School of Trade and International Economics has decided to organize its own annual event to enhance communication and connections between students and agencies, businesses that require high-quality human resources training and recruitment.<\/p>\n\n

Approximately 22 businesses participating in the job connection program operate in fields that the School of Trade and International Economics is currently training in, offering numerous job opportunities for students. By participating in the program, students not only gain access to businesses but also have the chance to meet successful alumni who are business leaders. This is an opportunity for them to connect with the job market and better define their career paths in the future.<\/p>\n\n

According to Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi, the connection with businesses has been communicated early to students from their second year to their final year. Information about businesses, job positions, job requirements, recruitment numbers, and benefits are announced in advance on the Institute’s website, communication channels, and information systems for students to proactively explore.<\/p>\n\n

“Today’s event is a direct connection point between students and businesses. Many companies conduct interviews right at the event for positions that were previously announced. This helps businesses and students quickly find common ground, while also allowing students to enter the labor market sooner,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n

Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi also noted that the School of Trade and International Economics is one of the pioneering units of the National Economics University in the program of innovation towards smart university education, strengthening the link between training and business practice.<\/p>\n\n

From the first year, students are exposed to businesses through career orientation programs and field trips to familiarize themselves with the work environment, understand job requirements, the volume of knowledge, skills, and the output standards of their field of study.<\/p>\n\n

In the second year, students continue to participate in internships at businesses. In the academic programs, the teaching ratio is designed to be practice-oriented, with approximately two-thirds of the time taught by theoretical lecturers and one-third by lecturers from businesses directly participating in teaching. By the third and fourth years, students enter the phase of intensive internships.<\/p>\n\n

This model closely combines theoretical training and practical application, creating conditions for students of the Institute to quickly adapt to the real professional environment.<\/p>\n\n

To strengthen strategic partnerships, the School of Trade and International Economics signed cooperation agreements with seven partner enterprises at the event, including: the Institute for Strategic and Policy Research in Industry and Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), Mainn Media Co., Ltd., Bach Viet Transport Co., Ltd. (BVG), New Style Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company (TH Queenfarm); OPL Logistics Joint Stock Company, and MISA Joint Stock Company.<\/p>\n\n
