On April 13, 2026, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu \u2013 Vice President of National Economics University welcomed\u00a0 H.E. Mr. Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdizade \u2013 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, along with Mr. Musa Guliyev \u2013 Embassy Attach\u00e9.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Attending the meeting, on behalf of National Economics University, were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh \u2013 Dean of International School of Management and Economics; Dr. Pham Sy Long \u2013 Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department; along with other staff and faculty members of the University.<\/p>\n\n

At the meeting, both sides discussed the direction to promote collaboration between National Economics University and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) in the fields of training and academic research. This is considered a suitable step in the context of higher education institutions increasingly focusing on expanding their international collaboration networks.<\/p>\n\n

Both parties agreed to continue regular exchanges, gradually concretizing the cooperation contents and aiming to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the near future. On this basis, practical cooperation programs will be researched and implemented, with student exchange considered a suitable starting point, laying the foundation for expanding more in-depth cooperation activities in training, research, and academic exchange between the two sides.<\/p>\n\n

Additionally, the meeting acknowledged the foundation of a good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan \u2013 a country that was once a republic of the Soviet Union, thereby creating favorable conditions for promoting educational cooperation and academic exchange between the two sides in the current period. This provides a favorable basis for strengthening educational cooperation, contributing to promoting academic exchange and connection between the educational institutions of the two countries.<\/p>\n\n
