Dr. Vu Hoang Nam, Vice Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs, presents the review report on student scientific research activities in 2025
During the 2024-2025 academic year, under the direction of the NEU Board of Presidents, the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs strengthened student scientific research, launching a broad-based initiative across the Advanced, High-Quality, POHE and Business Analytics programs. The activities aimed to improve educational quality, foster research capabilities, and identify and develop talent.
The Institute organized numerous seminars and training courses on scientific research methods, enabling students to exchange ideas and refine their projects. The scientific research initiative attracted more than 400 students, who formed 91 research groups addressing diverse topics in finance, accounting, digital marketing, culture and business. Approximately 20% of the projects were conducted in English, demonstrating integration and professionalism in academic activities.
The research reports met scientific standards and followed citation rules, with Turnitin used to check academic integrity. Many projects resulted in publications in journals and at international conferences, as well as outputs applied in practice.
In 2025, the student scientific research initiative at the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs achieved many impressive results. Across the Institute, 89 projects entered the institute-level competition, of which 86 won awards and were selected for submission to the University-level competition. The Institute’s students achieved outstanding results, winning eight first prizes, 20 second prizes, 28 third prizes and 25 consolation prizes.
Beyond these awards, scientific research activities also yielded academic achievements to be proud of, with 47 publications at international conferences, seven publications at national conferences, nine articles in international journals, two domestic articles and 89 research outputs with confirmed practical applications. These figures affirm the quality, creativity and effectiveness of the student scientific research initiative, while also demonstrating the active guidance and support provided by supervising lecturers.
For 2026 and subsequent periods, the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs aims to expand the scale and improve the quality of student scientific research activities. The Institute will continue to strengthen outreach and inspire a research mindset among all students, particularly encouraging first- and second-year students to participate; refine incentive and reward mechanisms for students and supervising lecturers; organize training courses on literature searches, academic writing and citation skills; and ensure that project management, review, approval and acceptance are transparent, on schedule and strictly compliant with the principles of scientific integrity.
