Opening Ceremony of Career and Employment Week – NEU Career Week 2025

On the morning of March 20, 2025, National Economics University (NEU) held the opening ceremony of Career and Employment Week – NEU Career Week 2025 under the theme “A Workforce Adapting to Artificial Intelligence,” promising to bring NEU students perspectives and insights from employers, along with many job opportunities.

An overview of the opening ceremony

Attending the opening ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU; MSc. Nguyen Phuong Linh, Director of the Center for Career Counseling and Employment and Head of the Organizing Committee for Career and Employment Week; leadership representatives from schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; and representatives of 50 businesses participating in Career and Employment Week.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU, delivers the opening remarks

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu noted that in recent years, NEU has continually innovated and applied modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), to teaching and learning. These efforts include the transition from traditional learning methods to online and blended models (Hybrid Learning), helping optimize teaching effectiveness and access to knowledge. The development of AI also brings many challenges and opportunities. Some simple jobs may be replaced by AI, but this does not mean that we lose opportunities. Instead, we need to equip ourselves with new skills and develop creative thinking, adaptability, and lifelong learning habits so that we are not left behind.

As an educational institution, NEU consistently supports students in accessing new technologies, enhancing their skills, and preparing as well as possible for their future careers. Its academic programs will not only focus on theory but also connect with practice, helping students better understand the labor market and chart an appropriate path for their personal development. The University also maintains activities that connect students with businesses, providing opportunities for internships and experience in real working environments while they are still studying. This not only gives students a clearer view of their chosen professions but also provides an advantage when seeking employment after graduation.

As the Fourth Industrial Revolution advances rapidly, its vast potential comes with considerable challenges. One of these is the pressure to compete directly with modern technological innovations. The wave of AI development and adoption, particularly over approximately the past three years, has left the workforce facing two choices critical to its survival: adapt or be replaced. This raises a major question for the labor market: Are young people truly ready to face the constant changes brought about by technology? Keeping pace with and adapting quickly to continual changes in society, NEU’s Career and Employment Week has continued to grow in both scale and quality each year to meet the expectations of thousands of students and businesses across Hanoi. Each edition of Career and Employment Week – NEU Career Week records impressive numbers of attendees and participating businesses. This year, the program is expected to reach nearly 20,000 second-, third-, and fourth-year students in economics, management, and business administration at universities across the city, along with 50 major businesses.

The main event of Career and Employment Week will take place on March 23, with many new features promising valuable experiences for students. The face-to-face recruitment consultation area at business booths will provide an ideal connection point where students can listen, engage in discussions, and have all their questions answered directly. This will give them a clearer understanding of labor market trends and an accurate picture of businesses’ recruitment needs, helping them chart career paths best suited to their abilities and passions.

Activities during Career and Employment Week 2025

Under the theme “A Workforce Adapting to Artificial Intelligence,” the event is not only an opportunity for students to have their questions answered about employment trends and recruitment information from major businesses in an era of rapid AI development. It is also an occasion for students to identify the skills needed in the age of digitalization, strengthen their professional knowledge and soft skills, and find appropriate solutions and paths to enhance their competitiveness in the global labor market.
