NEU Leaders Visit Student Duong Ngoc Anh, Offering Encouragement and Gifts of Support

Recently, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of National Economics University (NEU), visited student Duong Ngoc Anh on behalf of the University to offer encouragement and present gifts of support. Also visiting Ngoc Anh were MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, Dean of the Faculty of Management Information Systems; Dr. Vu Tri Tuan, Secretary of the Youth Union; and lecturers and students.

On behalf of the University’s faculty and staff, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu offered heartfelt sympathy and encouragement to Ngoc Anh and her family. Speaking with emotion, the NEU Vice President said: “I hope you and your family will find strength, remain steadfast and trust in your doctors’ treatment so that you can overcome this illness and soon return to study alongside your teachers and friends.” Prof. Nguyen Thanh Hieu also expressed sympathy for the difficulties Ngoc Anh and her family are facing and affirmed that the University will always stand by her, ready to provide support to help her face this challenging treatment period with confidence.

Duong Ngoc Anh, a student in the Cohort 66 Information Systems class in the Faculty of Management Information Systems, is just 19 years old and is currently receiving intensive treatment at Bach Mai Hospital for a blood clotting disorder. The condition has led to skin necrosis and multiple organ failure, requiring blood filtration, skin grafting and long-term treatment. Each passing day brings her closer to the boundary between life and death. The cost of Anh’s care has now reached tens of millions of VND per day—an amount far beyond the means of her family, whose resources have already been exhausted by borrowing to cover expenses during her hospital treatment.

Although modest, the gift sent to Ngoc Anh and her family conveys the heartfelt care and warm support of the University’s faculty, staff and students, reflecting the spirit of “those who are better off helping those in need” and NEU’s responsibility to the community.

We wish Ngoc Anh a speedy recovery and hope she can return to the classroom as soon as possible to continue pursuing her unfinished dream. The road ahead remains long, but with her strong determination and the love of her family, teachers and friends, we believe she will overcome every challenge. NEU will always stand by her every step of the way!
