On the afternoon of December 20, 2024, National Economics University (NEU) held the opening ceremony for its 34th master’s cohort, welcoming 1,692 new students for the 2025–2027 academic period.

Representing NEU were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Dean of the Institute of Postgraduate Education. Also attending were leadership representatives from schools, departments, faculties, institutes and centers; lecturers from specialized faculties; and, in particular, new students representing the 1,692 successful applicants to the 34th cohort from across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, congratulated the nearly 1,700 students admitted to the 34th master’s cohort and expressed confidence in the journey of learning and development ahead of them.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong shared that NEU hopes each master’s class will become not only a learning group but also an academic community that connects learners with extensive practical experience, where knowledge flows in both directions through sharing, critical discussion and joint efforts to find solutions to issues arising from management and operational practice.

Emphasizing the University’s strategic direction for postgraduate education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong affirmed: “We are committed to continuing to update our academic programs to make them modern, practice-oriented and conducive to integration; strengthening the links between education, scientific research, policy consulting and business needs; expanding the use of digital technology in teaching; and building a rigorous, open and professional academic environment that provides the best possible conditions for learners to realize their capabilities and aspirations for development.”

The President of NEU also expressed his hope that students would remain proactive in learning, rigorous in research and respectful of academic standards; strengthen exchanges, cooperation and knowledge sharing within the academic community; and closely connect their studies and research with their work, thereby making practical contributions to their agencies, businesses and society.

Addressing the new students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong affirmed that the learning journey ahead would inevitably involve pressures and challenges. However, with determination, professional resilience and support from the University and its lecturers, students would successfully complete their academic program, achieve well-deserved results and continue to spread the value of knowledge throughout socioeconomic life.
