Speaking at the gathering in a spirit of mutual support, solidarity, and care for NEU students, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu emphasized that firsthand inquiries had shown that many of the University’s students facing hardship remained determined to succeed in their studies. Some have lost both parents; some are ethnic minority students from poor households; some belong to very small ethnic minority groups in particularly disadvantaged areas; some have disabilities; some work while studying to support their families; and many come from families that have suffered losses from natural disasters, storms, and floods…

“To the more than 200 students facing hardship who are receiving gifts today, I understand that your lives are not always easy and that you face difficulties and challenges. But I believe that, with the determination and resilience of youth, you will overcome them all. Today, we are here not only to celebrate the Lunar New Year together but also to encourage and support one another. You are outstanding young people of our country and the future of our nation. Your success is a source of pride for NEU,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu.
