National Economics University Launches Fundraising Appeal for People Affected by Heavy Rains and Flooding in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands
On the afternoon of November 24, 2025, National Economics University (NEU) launched a fundraising appeal to support people in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands who have been severely affected by heavy rains and flooding. The initiative came as people across the country turned with deep emotion toward their beloved Central Vietnam in recent days, as local residents once again faced mounting difficulties caused by heavy rains and flooding. Many localities in the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands have suffered heavy losses of life and property.

A view of the launch event
Attending the launch were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong, Chair of the NEU Trade Union; Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat, Chair of the Scientific and Training Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chair of the Advisory Council; representatives of the leadership of schools, departments, faculties, institutes, and centers; faculty and staff; and a large number of students from across the University.
The recent prolonged spell of extreme rainfall and flooding has caused particularly severe damage, with far-reaching effects on the lives of people in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. This urgent situation calls for joining hands to help flood-affected residents overcome their difficulties in a spirit of “mutual compassion and support” and “those who are better off helping those in need”—humanitarian values long upheld in the community and within the NEU family.

This initiative once again affirms the social responsibility, community awareness, and spirit of sharing among the University’s faculty and staff, helping to spread positive values throughout the community and society.
