National Economics University Hosts Livestream on 2025 Full-Time Undergraduate Admissions

In the late afternoon and evening of May 22, 2025, as part of its series of advisory activities on 2025 full-time undergraduate admissions, National Economics University (NEU) hosted a livestream to provide detailed information on majors, admissions methods, and study opportunities at the University, helping applicants and parents access the latest information and answering questions about this year’s admissions.

Participating and sharing information during the livestream were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President and Head of the 2025 Full-Time Undergraduate Admissions Advisory Committee; Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs and Standing Member of the 2025 Full-Time Undergraduate Admissions Council; and representatives of the leadership of schools, faculties, and institutes.

In his opening remarks at the livestream, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, said that, to help parents and applicants access admissions information, NEU had announced its admissions framework for 2025 as early as April 2024. In March 2025, after the Ministry of Education and Training officially released its regulations on full-time undergraduate admissions, NEU issued its admissions information for 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong emphasized that NEU’s admissions plan this year features three important changes. First, the University is admitting students to two new majors: Labor Relations and International Commercial Law. The University surveyed the labor market for both majors and found very high demand for graduates. The second change is the use of only four subject combinations for admission review, rather than the nine used in previous years. These four combinations are A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), D01 (Mathematics, Literature, English), and D07 (Mathematics, Chemistry, English).

Statistics from recent years show that more than 95% of applicants seeking admission to NEU selected these four subject combinations. The third major change concerns admissions to advanced and high-quality programs. In previous years, applicants could take the entrance examinations for advanced and high-quality programs only after gaining admission to the University. Starting this year, NEU has assigned separate admissions codes to these programs for applicants to select when registering for admission review.

Providing further information on changes to admissions for advanced and high-quality programs, Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs at NEU, said that in 2025, these programs would admit students from the outset under five admissions codes.
Specifically, the advanced programs comprise five academic programs under two admissions codes: TT1 covers three academic programs—Advanced Accounting, Advanced Financial Planning, and Advanced Business Administration; TT2 covers two academic programs—Advanced International Business Administration and Advanced Finance.

The high-quality programs comprise 16 academic programs under three admission review codes: CLC1, CLC2, and CLC3.
Dr. Vu Van Ngoc emphasized that applicants who register under one of these admission review codes and are admitted may choose any academic program covered by that admissions code. NEU does not impose additional criteria for their subsequent selection of academic programs. “For example, if you are admitted under admissions code TT1, which covers three advanced academic programs in accounting, financial planning, and business administration, you are guaranteed a place in whichever of these programs you wish to study,” Dr. Vu Van Ngoc explained.

The Dean of the Institute of Advanced, High-Quality and POHE Programs also advised applicants to carefully review the admissions codes and the academic programs covered by each code so that they can make choices best suited to their abilities and aspirations, and be ready for the opening of the University’s admission review registration system on June 1.

Speaking during the program, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs at NEU, said that in 2025, NEU would offer a total of 8,500 places across 73 admissions codes. These include 8,200 places in full-time undergraduate programs and 300 places in full-time undergraduate transfer programs. The University continues to use three admission review methods. Direct admission applies to applicants who win first, second, or third prizes in national or international competitions for outstanding students organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or to which the Ministry sends participants, and applicants who win first prizes in national or international science and engineering competitions organized by the Ministry or to which it sends participants. Admission review based solely on 2025 high school graduation examination scores applies to all NEU admissions codes for 2025, using four subject combinations (A00, A01, D01, D07), with no differences in admission review score requirements between combinations.

The combined admission review method applies to applicants with international SAT/ACT credentials; applicants with competency/thinking assessment test results from Vietnam National University, Hanoi (HSA), Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (APT), or Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA); and applicants with international English language certificates combined with competency/thinking assessment test results or with 2025 high school graduation examination scores, Dr. Le Anh Duc said.
