Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong, NEU President, delivers remarks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong noted that NEU was one of the first higher education institutions in Vietnam entrusted by the State and Government with providing postgraduate education. Over nearly 70 years of institutional growth and development, NEU has provided the country with master’s graduates who are accomplished managers, experts and scientists in economics, management and business administration. In doing so, the University has made important contributions to nation-building and the country’s socioeconomic development.

According to the NEU President, the new master’s graduates had overcome many difficulties and challenges to achieve their results. “The master’s degrees you receive today affirm your success following a journey of perseverance and knowledge accumulation and, most importantly, mark the beginning of a new journey with many opportunities and challenges ahead.” Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong emphasized that in recent years, the world had experienced considerable upheaval, with geopolitical conflicts posing enormous challenges to humanity. Vietnam therefore needs managers and entrepreneurs equipped with the skills, knowledge, resolve and determination to overcome all difficulties and challenges. “We believe that the 1,087 new master’s graduates will always carry forward the tradition of talented economists, managers and administrators, equipped with modern, up-to-date knowledge and ready to serve and contribute to the country. We believe that you will become leaders of corporations, localities, organizations and businesses, ready to bring a better life to society and further enrich the University’s traditions,” the NEU President said.

Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong also shared that the new master’s graduates had officially joined NEU’s network of hundreds of thousands of undergraduate and postgraduate alumni. Through postgraduate alumni network activities, they will connect the University’s education and scientific research with business and management practice. Their success will further honor NEU’s nearly 70-year tradition.

New master’s graduate Nguyen Nhu Quynh shared that Cohort 30 was a special master’s cohort with unforgettable memories, as lecturers and students worked together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, facing numerous difficulties and challenges while working and learning to adapt to new teaching and learning methods. For nearly three semesters, lecturers and students could meet and exchange ideas only through computer screens and by telephone, with unfamiliar online semester examinations. “However, with the care, instruction and dedicated guidance of our lecturers, we worked hard to overcome difficulties, demonstrating the inner strength and resolve of NEU students to complete a two-year journey of learning and acquiring valuable knowledge and skills. The knowledge our lecturers imparted to each student in the classroom will always benefit us in our lives and careers. Our highly practical graduation theses, completed with the dedicated direction, guidance and assistance of the University’s lecturers and experts, will make important contributions to resolving issues facing the agencies, units and localities where we work and live.”

“We firmly believe that, through our lecturers’ guidance, education and instruction, we will devote all our energy and intellectual resources, drawing on the knowledge, experience and insights gained during our studies and research, to make positive contributions in our work, helping our agencies, businesses and localities develop further and contributing to the country’s prosperity and strength,” new master’s graduate Nguyen Nhu Quynh emphasized.
