Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, speaks at the event

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, thanked the Organizing Committee, the leadership of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank), business representatives, lecturers and students for attending and supporting the event.

Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong affirmed that the program had practical significance in creating opportunities to connect university classrooms with the professional environment. It is also one of the key activities within the strategic partnership between NEU and MBBank, focusing on learners and equipping students to engage with the wider world in the new context.

The President emphasized that the Party and State’s policy of strengthening connections between higher education institutions, the labor market and businesses has been clearly articulated in numerous resolutions and education and training development strategies. Today’s program provides concrete evidence of putting that policy into practice, with “the University – Business – Society” working together to improve the quality of human resources.

NEU, one of the country’s key, pioneering universities, and MBBank, one of its major banks and a standout in the finance and banking sector, both play important roles in their respective fields. The President expressed his hope that, through the practical experiences offered by the program, students would acquire further knowledge and skills and gradually mature into highly qualified professionals with resolve and intellect.

Dang Minh Huyen, Human Resources Director of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, speaks at the event

Representing Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank), Dang Minh Huyen, Human Resources Director, affirmed that the partnership between MBBank and NEU had been maintained over many years, with numerous impressive milestones. NEU is recognized as one of the institutions that train high-quality human resources for the banking sector in general and MBBank in particular. Indeed, many leaders on MBBank’s Board of Directors, Supervisory Board and Executive Board, as well as directors of its divisions and branches, are alumni of the University.

Building on that tradition, MBBank seeks to further strengthen joint activities, bringing practical business experience into the classroom to help students enhance their capabilities and adapt quickly to shifts in the financial and banking market, which is currently undergoing considerable change. The MBBank representative expressed confidence that, with close ties between the University and businesses, NEU students would continue to mature, confidently engage with the wider world and establish their standing in their future professional environments.

Delegates and students attend the “Starting the Journey from the Classroom to a Banking Career” program

“Starting the Journey from the Classroom to a Banking Career” is the opening program in a series of cooperative activities between NEU and Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank), creating a pathway connecting university classrooms with real-world professional environments. More than a connection, it marks a dynamic start to a journey in which MB offers NEU’s enthusiastic and aspiring students career opportunities, inspiring stories and guidance for the future.

The “Starting the Journey from the Classroom to a Banking Career” program was designed with three main parts: Part 1 – Kick off the journey: NEU provided career guidance and information on opportunities and career preparation for economics students. Part 2 – “MB Career Explore” workshop: An introduction to career groups at MBBank and development opportunities under the Agile workforce model, alongside support for students in exploring their personality types to choose suitable career paths. Part 3 – Opportunities at MBBank: An introduction to the rules of the “The Best of MB Chasing 2025” program and answers to students’ questions.

Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the School of Advanced Education Programs, High-Quality Programs and POHE, speaks at the event

Speaking on “Career Guidance – Opportunities and Preparation for Economics Students,” Dr. Vu Van Ngoc, Dean of the School of Advanced Education Programs, High-Quality Programs and POHE, noted that globalization and digital transformation are rapidly changing the labor market. Many traditional occupations may disappear, but many new ones will also emerge, requiring students to proactively plan their careers, understand their own capabilities and persist in pursuing their goals. “Do not wait for opportunities to come; prepare yourselves so that when opportunity knocks, you are ready,” Dr. Vu Van Ngoc emphasized.

With the advantage of studying in a modern, internationally integrated environment, the School’s students have many opportunities for development: access to advanced programs, learning with experienced lecturers, international exchanges and internships at reputable businesses. These provide a “passport” to confidently engage and compete globally. However, opportunities only truly become valuable when they are seized and translated into results.

Dr. Vu Van Ngoc noted that opportunities to study at the School, together with practical experiences such as internships at MBBank, provide an important stepping stone for students to acquire knowledge, develop skills and prove themselves. He also expressed confidence that today’s younger generation would become a highly qualified workforce, contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable development in the future.

Dang Bao Ngoc, Full-Time Lecturer at MBBank’s Learning and Innovation Center, shares insights with NEU students

Continuing the discussion, Dang Bao Ngoc, Full-Time Lecturer at MBBank’s Learning and Innovation Center, offered students a range of practical perspectives on careers in banking, while encouraging young people to explore boldly, embrace challenges and persist in pursuing their goals.

The program not only launched cooperation between NEU and MBBank but also served to inspire students on their career journeys. In the spirit of “Explore – Be Extraordinary – Make Your Mark,” young people were encouraged to move forward with passion, dedication and resolve, ready to turn today’s questions of “Why?” into a journey of advancement toward becoming shining “Stars” in the future.
