More Than 600 Students From Hai An High School, Hai Phong, Visit NEU for the “A Day as a National Economics University Student” Program

This morning, December 14, 2024, more than 600 students from Hai An High School, Hai Phong, took part in a visit and the “A Day as a National Economics University Student” experiential program.

An overview of the program

Representing Hai An High School, Hai Phong, at the program were Vu Van Dien, Rector; Nguyen Thuy Lieu, Vice Rector; Duong Thi Hai Yen, Vice Rector; and the school’s teachers, parents, and students.

Representing National Economics University (NEU) were Dr. Vu Trong Nghia, Head of the Department of Communications; MSc. Hoang Thanh Ha, Department of Academic Affairs; and faculty and staff from across the University.

Every year, NEU organizes numerous activities connecting with high schools across the country to give students more opportunities to experience the university learning environment and take their first steps in exploring and planning their future careers.

Dr. Vu Trong Nghia, Head of the Department of Communications, speaks at the program.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of NEU, Dr. Vu Trong Nghia, Head of the Department of Communications, warmly welcomed the teachers, parents, and students from Hai An High School, Hai Phong, who came to visit and take part in the “A Day as a National Economics University Student” program.

Dr. Vu Trong Nghia emphasized that, over nearly 70 years of development, NEU has consistently maintained its position as one of Vietnam’s largest centers for training and professional development for economic management and business administration personnel. Throughout its history, NEU has educated many of the country’s leaders and talented business executives, making significant contributions to the country’s development during international integration.

“In particular, this journey became even more meaningful when, on November 15, the Prime Minister signed a Decision to restructure National Economics University from a ‘truong dai hoc’ into a ‘dai hoc’. This brought great joy to the University’s faculty and students on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.”

Dr. Vu Trong Nghia also noted that NEU always provides opportunities for high school students to participate directly in career guidance and social activities to begin developing their abilities and career interests. These activities also help students make their own career decisions through firsthand exposure and a systematic assessment of their knowledge, attitudes, and skills, as well as labor market needs, so that they can choose suitable careers for the future. Dr. Vu Trong Nghia expressed his hope that, following today’s visit and experiences at NEU, the students would work even harder to achieve the best possible academic results, and that he would see them again at the start of the coming academic year.
