An overview of the program
The NEU delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU and head of the delegation; Dr. Trinh Mai Van, Deputy Head of the Department of Research Management; faculty members chairing discussion sessions; and eight student groups presenting at the conference.
With the theme “Innovation, Integration, and Sustainable Development,” SR-ICYREB 2025 served not only as an academic forum for students to present and disseminate ideas and research findings, but also as a space for exchange, networking, and cooperation in scientific research, entrepreneurship, and innovation among universities in Vietnam and abroad.
The ICYREB 2025 conference for young researchers was jointly organized by 10 economics and business institutions nationwide: Thuongmai University; NEU; the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; the University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Banking Academy of Vietnam; Foreign Trade University; the Academy of Finance; the University of Economics, the University of Danang; the University of Economics, Hue University; and the University of Economics and Law, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. They were joined by Guangxi University of Finance and Economics (China) and Sungkyunkwan University (South Korea).

SR-ICYREB 2025 featured research across a range of fields, including economics, finance, business administration, and marketing. Students presented numerous new research directions, including analyses of the impact of artificial intelligence on corporate management, proposed solutions for digital transformation in international trade, clean energy development, and the promotion of green entrepreneurship. These topics were particularly relevant as Vietnam implements several important Politburo policies, including Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on advancing international integration; and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training.

The conference featured 13 parallel discussion sessions, with hundreds of research papers submitted by universities in Vietnam and abroad. Following a rigorous academic review process, the 19 most outstanding studies were selected for presentation at the conference. Among these 19 outstanding papers, two NEU papers received the “Best Paper Award,” authored by two groups: Pham Lan Nhi and Nguyen Thao Phuong; and Le Hieu Phuong, Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, and Luong Thi Khanh Trang. This achievement further affirms the research capabilities, creativity, and academic spirit of the University’s students within the economics and business academic community.

Leaders of the 10 economics and business administration institutions also attended a roundtable session to exchange experiences in organizing international scientific conferences. They discussed directions for inter-university cooperation in scientific research and academic programs, proposed ideas for expanding the membership of SR-ICYREB’s co-organizing institutions, and handed over the rotating conference flag to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the host of SR-ICYREB 2026.
The international scientific conference “Student Scientific Research at Economics and Business Universities” (SR-ICYREB 2025) was held successfully, marking an important milestone in cooperation on student scientific research among economics and business universities. The event not only established a respected academic forum but also provided a valuable platform for students from participating universities, particularly NEU students, to interact, learn, and comprehensively develop their research capabilities and integration skills.

Before the opening session, NEU students participated in a cultural experience trip to Bat Trang Pottery Village, where they created recycled artwork from pottery fragments, made pottery by hand, and learned about the history and cultural values of the traditional craft village. The trip offered engaging experiences while helping students further appreciate the richness of Vietnam’s cultural heritage and the creativity and craftsmanship of Vietnamese potters.
