Some General Matters Concerning Implementation of the Regulation on Revolutionary Ethical Standards for Officials and Party Members in the New Period

Some general matters concerning implementation of the Regulation on revolutionary ethical standards for officials and Party members in the new period under Guidelines No. 159-HD/BTGTW dated July 3, 2024, are as follows:

– Ethics constitute an element of society’s spiritual foundation, are closely linked to practical human activities, and are expressed through rules of conduct consistent with the moral principles and customs of communities and nations, forming the distinctive virtues of cultural traditions.

– The revolutionary ethics that our Party develops are communist ethics, founded on Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought, inheriting and developing the nation’s cherished traditional values and the finest elements of humanity’s ethical culture. They reflect dialectical thinking and unity between revolutionary awareness and action in the guidelines and strategy of national independence linked to socialism, national liberation – class liberation – social liberation – human liberation. “Revolutionary ethics can be summarized as follows: Clearly distinguish right from wrong. Maintain a firm stance. Be utterly loyal to the country. Be utterly devoted to the people”; “Resolve to struggle throughout one’s life for the Party and the revolution. That is the most essential principle.”

For officials and Party members, revolutionary ethics are the root and foundation. Only when officials and Party members correctly and precisely understand and act in accordance with revolutionary ethical standards can they create a high degree of unity and great strength throughout the Party, countering erroneous, incorrect and deviant perceptions that affect the Party’s prestige and honor. This, in turn, fosters sound and pure revolutionary ethical resolve, awareness and conduct, and a spirit of service and dedication to the country’s development, the people’s happiness and humanity’s progress.

– Revolutionary ethical standards are principles and rules that serve as benchmarks and models for assessing and regulating the conduct of officials and Party members. Linked to communist goals and ideals and embodying the Party’s political mission, they provide a basis for officials and Party members to voluntarily study, strive, cultivate themselves, practice and regulate their own conduct in their daily work.

– Criteria for assessing the implementation of revolutionary ethical standards provide the basis for determining the extent to which each official and Party member implements these standards.
