On November 10, 2025, National Economics University (NEU) held a conference to review student affairs in 2025, assess the results of student management, support, and development activities over the past academic year, and set directions and tasks for the new academic year.
An overview of the conference

Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management; leadership representatives from schools and departments; leadership representatives from faculties and institutes responsible for student management; representatives of the Youth Union and Student Association; and assistants from faculties and institutes across the University.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU, speaks at the conference
Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of NEU, affirmed: “Student affairs is one of the key pillars that help shape character, develop competencies, and foster positive values in every NEU student. The University will continue to pursue substantial innovation through digital transformation and the development of a comprehensive learning and personal development ecosystem, working toward the ideal of dynamic, creative, and globally integrated students.”
MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management, presents a report on the results of student affairs work in the 2024-2025 academic year
According to the review report, the 2024-2025 academic year recorded many notable results: More than 8,000 new students and 6,000 final-year students participated in Civic Education Week for Students; more than 400 outstanding Youth Union members attended a course on the Communist Party of Vietnam, with over 100 students admitted to the Party; 2,208 students received academic merit scholarships totaling VND 26 billion, with nearly VND 4 billion also provided by businesses partnering with the University; tuition exemptions, reductions, and learning support totaled more than VND 8 billion for 1,237 students; NEU Career Week 2025 attracted more than 50 businesses and nearly 20,000 student visits, affirming the University’s position in connecting education with recruitment; sports and volunteering activities were vibrant, with more than 1,100 students participating in the Green Summer Campaign, alongside many meaningful charitable, blood donation, and public awareness programs.
Psychological counseling and campus health services were implemented effectively through a student-friendly clinic model and healthcare activities for more than 7,000 new students. Student participation in health insurance reached 96.2%, demonstrating the University’s comprehensive attention to learners’ lives and welfare.
Student affairs at NEU have clearly achieved many positive and coordinated results across political and ideological education, learner support, psychological and career counseling, physical education, and campus healthcare. Many activities have become more substantive, making a tangible impact on students’ lives and development.
However, alongside these achievements, the report also identified several shortcomings that need to be addressed, including insufficiently engaging political education content and communications that have yet to achieve broad reach. The University has identified these issues as priorities for improvement in the coming academic year to enhance the quality of management and services for learners.
Entering the 2025-2026 academic year, NEU is focusing on expanding the use of digital technology in student management, refining centralized data processes, improving the quality of counseling and support for students’ physical and mental health, and further strengthening coordination among units across the University. These directions demonstrate the University’s commitment to building a healthy, comprehensive, and genuinely effective environment for learning and personal development, with learners at the center of education.
